Nera gets 2 focus even if she flies a red. Then in RB1 she can use APT with 6 dice to almost certain 6 hits.

You bet everything on single B wing getting into range 1 of the enemy. Ps5 Bwing.

Incerceptors gonna be like, "sure whatever mate".

Poe gonna boost away wondering what this B wing was up to.

Deci and Falcon will wash your plan away in they boost engines.

Dash wont even notice he passed something.

Swarms gonna be like: ok he killed 2 of us with rockets...ok Bigs is dead? Ok now tear this Bwing to shreds.

On paper it looks good, but PS5 pilot (mind you have no barrel roll if you wanna shot torpedos) can be incredibly hard to keep at range 5 of anything worthwile. Plus you have only 3 ship and none is agile or durable to take some punishment. HWK can go down in 1 turn same as Biggs. Single, B can take some punishment but not too much too.

Idea is nice. Execution can be nightmare. If you want Nera i would go with:

Nera +Deadeye +AS +Proton Torpedos +Munition +Guidance Chips (36pts)

Cheaper, more efficient. Its way easier to avoid range 1 with PS5 ship then to get into it. You got 2 dice modyfication with chips and torps and just 1 die less.

Then add Jan and you still have 33 points to spend. Maybe some ace? 2 Prototypes?

I took Biggs exactly because i bet everything on the one B-Wing. Biggs is the only almost 100% protection in the game. A B-Wing that gets focussed on dies pretty quickly as well.

If you want q better chance of pulling nera with APT, use VI Cracken so she can BR towards your target

Its definitely playable.

I just pointed that vs some lists you will do ok (rebel mid figters, maybe some scum tlts configs), some will just outgun you (swarms...) and some will go "sure whateva" (superdash, aces).

Dont get me wrong i like the idea. Any idea to use warheads as more then wasted points is great. It can be just nightmare to execute

Btw. today i tried it. The enemy had Boba, Palpmobile and the FO Ace that prevents modifications through target lock. Went very well i could use both APT, the 6 DMG are huge if it works. Big bases and no Engine Upgrade on his side obviously helped a lot.

Thats what i meant: that list was what i call mid range, not too many ships and not too upgraded you did good. You will vs any similar list, im really curious how it would fare vs rebel aces (poe and corran) cause im pretty sure imperial aces would shred it.

Yeah Barrel Roll is almost an auto-escape no matter how i fly while Boost might not work in all situations because i can get the torpedo off even when doing a red which gives more options.

Airen is also a nice option.

42pts in a Bwing is too much though, no? I ran a similar Nera minus the AS. Could never get her to range 1 against Corran. He just laughed and boosted/br outta arc/range and she ended up dying quick.

I got addicted to APT when I one-shot an Awing that got a bit to close. Loved it! Hasnt happened since though, haha. I changed Nera up a bit to reduce her cost. Havent flown it yet though.

Nera + Crackshot + Plasma/Proton Torp + EM + FCS + Guidance Chips (34/35pts)

Basically, just need to TL to fire. Can be a potential 5 hit from range 2-3. FCS will TL for another attack next round minus the crack. After that she is just a Bwing with FCS which still packs a punch. Just have to unload before she dies. For another point can go with Proton Torps for an extra crit.

According to Dice Calculator, a proton torp with crackshot and chips on 2agility ship with a focus token will have an expected dmg of 3.01, which means two of those damages are most likely crits. And a 36% chance for 4 hits.

Flew Nera over the weekend:

Fired on Poe from range 3 both times. Eliminated his shields both times. First time he had full shields and I rolled three hits. He evade two, with crackshot and plasma ability his shields were gone. Unfortunately my red squad vet didnt do anything after Neras hard work and wasting crackshot.

Second time, Poe had regen two shields, I got four hits, he evaded two. If I didnt waste my crackshot last time, could of had a crit go through.

Was a good test for Nera, definately liked this build. Plasma or proton would both be great, especially with guidance chips! Love the chips! Plasma can eliminate Dash's shields, or Lambda shields in one hit. But proton lets you fire without really needing a focus, because proton turns one focus to a crit, and chips will turn any die to a crit. So you end up with 3-4 hits most of the time without a focus.

What sucks with Nera is both good and bad, AT kicks in firing out of arc, so I was always trying to get Poe in arc before firing, but when he was in arc he was range 3 anyways. Without AT, Poe would have eaten two crits from Nera.

She is a great protector. She can fly in formation and still fire off plasma or protons to flankers.

Have to fix my squad. Ran her with Wedge and Red Squad Vet. If I had Janson, Poe's focus would have been eliminated. Really feeling Janson with her, or maybe a small Z-swarm to block.

I've been toying with Nera and Adv. Protons, but haven't been game to try it with the R1 problem. I might have a solution to the focus/TL problem though; run Dutch in a TLT Y Wing with her.

Dutch hast that mcuh higher of a Pilot skill though. Yes you can do it in one turn which is still better, but low pilot rating means your action happens first.

Jan Ors gives her another die to reach 6 red.

I could swap Biggs for Airen, but that leaves nera unprotected and pushes the dmg part even more to her as a Z-95 isnt that great of a ship. Also that would mean i can't use red maneauvers with the Advances Sensors without lossing the Airen-extra action. Moreover i have to stay in range 1 to him to trigger the extra barrel roll. Not sure if the disadvantages would covered up the occasional barrel roll i could do for it.

I think if you want to go ordinance, go all the way. 2 B wings with torpedoes or add a K wing. ordinance lets you usually shoot more dice, that's more helpful if you shoot more dice all the way. I'm thinking to try Ten with torpedoes and guidance chips, since that means auto hit.

for example, Ten with ion torpedoes autohits, letting Nera close in to range 1 of ionized ships with advanced torpedoes?
