Any one have a source for altitude pegs? Has any body made them - if so how? I'll appreciate any help I can get.
replacement altitude pegs
The italian company that makes them refuse to sell them lose, not even FFG have them (but if you have a few broken they might send them to you, FFG are great with missing and broken stuff). One of my players tried to replicate them with poor result.
There are other pins you can buy instead, I think it was Haji that linked to some in another thread a month or 2 ago. In that case you have pins of different height and replace the whole pin when you change altitude.
There are also other system, like using antennas as altitude pins (I did that a long time ago in Blue max 1/72, it worked like a charm).
Here is 2 helpful links for making your own stands (you need acrobat reader): Rodstand and Antenna stand . Both of these system are easy to make and have been used by minature aircombat gamers for a long time.
Litko also do WAW compatible bases and their own type of altitude stand. Think it's fixed height, but uses markers on the pole to designate altitude.
Pour Le Merite,
Thanks for the help. The antenna has some possibilities. I'll have to play around with it.

IRM,
Thanks for the help. I may have to try one of Litko's bases to do some experimenting on. Maybe figure out how to drill the altitude rods to attach pins and sockets? Anyway a lot to think about.
MonkeyMind
MonkeyMind,
I've done a pretty good review of the Litko stands on my Wings of War Aerodrom site.
We also have a couple of members that have done their own stands...
