As a newbie getting schooled on Vassal, at the games shop, and at my casual game at home... it is a wonderful moment when a list starts to click for you. You get that first win...(and wonder if it was just luck)...and then 1 win turns into a streak. This was that 1st list for me. It revealed how much I liked the flying part of X-wing (I love the BB-8 and PTL on Poe so you barrel roll, PTL, focus, move, and THEN boost... feels like cheating sometimes!). If I want to be really nimble I swap the PS8 convenience with Tycho with Jake at PS7 and use focus passing from Kyle to do surprise barrel rolls after he has moved.

A key to this list is how you fly Kyle in the first few moves I have found. I fly Tycho and Poe tightly, let Kyle build up 4+ focus and then make sure T&P fly into Kyle's range 3 at round 3+. The extra focus help make Kyle a bit more durable on defense and can help make the TLT a bit more effective on unlucky rolls. Then I start passing focus out like candy. Asteroid placement is key to creating a little ring that Kyle can fly around that deters clumsy pilots from chasing him.
