Only a 65 point force. Using upgrades in the game for first time since last few games were learning the basics from the FO starter set. Proxying the FO ties into being standard eyeballs. Feedback is welcomed

Howlrunner-(18) swarm tactics(2)

Backstabber-(16)

Black Squadron Pilot-(14) wired(1)

Black Squadron Pilot-(14)

It is obvious, but no swarm tactics. Equip two more wired instead. Backstabber is one of my favourites pilots because it rewards going tactical ( no head on approach ). Wired is a potent tool, and easy to use.

Good luck and continue your learning curve !!!

If you don't want to proxy:

Howl w/ swarm tactics

Nightbeast

2 epsilon pilots

65

Its not bad. Use the eppsies as blockers. They are harder to kill than regular ties and have a better dial.

Going to have to aquire to more wired cards. Only one came with the starter set

The old proxy or not proxy. I am a "buy ships not cards" guy, of course to play only with originals is fundamental in tournament play. But if you are playing 65 pts learning games... Think about proxy.

You will expand your card's collection slowly...but cards as EU or AT are part of your "education" as a x wing player.

It's not necessarily that proxy is bad, but if you learn to limit your builds to the cards you have, you learn how to use those cards. As you increase your collection you have more and can learn those. You'll also see what other people are flying and may find something you really want to buy because of the cards.

To be honest, I do a bit of both. On Vassal, I use everything available. On the tabletop, I limit cards to what I have (which is not really limited anymore... but means I wouldn't fly a crackswarm). I don't hold anyone else to that standard, but I use it to make myself better in learning cards and playing without the "optimal" cards.

In the end, flying is more important because upgrades don't matter when you are parked on a rock. Do what you like, just showing a different perspective...

Mmmm... Good point. But in my opinion there are some key cards that you should Master because they arevdo good and seen very often. Like EU or AT. If you are learning to play Imps on a limited budget, better proxy AT now and upgrade your Interceptors. You will buy Star Viper later. You need other ships now.

Just my two cents.
