Does anyone else get a unsettling feeling over the fact that its been almost 5 months since there has been any kind of announcement on wave 3 of Armada? I'm getting the feeling they may discontinue it seeing as it seems they've put so much effort into X-Wing as of late... I mean, I could be wrong, and I really hope I am, it just gives me a bad feeling.
The future of Armada...
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything until April... And then expect Wave 3 sometime in November. There seems to be about a seven month cycle with X-Wing and Armada (X-Wing Wave 8 was announced in July and it's still not arrived yet - Armada Wave 2 was announced in April last year and hit stores around November/December?) and I wonder if this has something to do with Disney's taking over the licence. Personally I'd be happy with a single Wave each year for Armada. One of the things that has helped shift me from X-Wing to Armada is the slower 'pace' of the game as well as the releases!
If they can't release at least two waves per year then count me out. If there isn't a wave three in stores by May or June which is unlikely then I doubt this game will hold my interest. It seems like the game is not going to receive further waves. What we got is all we are getting I'm afraid. Now let's see an annoying post on how this pattern matches X wing in the early days.

Trust me they are not discontinuing it for many reasons the most obvious one is why would they put effort into Regional Championships if they were dropping the line. It would be foolish to drop anything Star Wars with the other 2+ movies in the pipeline. Their production cycle is usually about a year from the start of internal testing to release.

This is just wild speculation and is not grounded in any facts.
Hold on guys, we really need to talk about the super star destroyer and sliding scale.

Don't forget how ramming is bad and needs house rules and how Raiders are horrible.

You ever feel like we've been here before?
I find your lack of faith disturbing...You need to go home and rethink your life.
Naw FFG would never do that to us... ![]()

I think it is more likely they have recalculated the total amount of ships they plan to release, with the waves spread over the period until the year of the final movie release if they want to ride on the succes on those movies for maximum effect. They probably can release the waves much faster but marketing-wise that is a bad idea.

Has it been long enough yet? Should I do my c/p. . .
I was looking forward to it actually.

Actually, welcome to the boards Mr. Penguin!
Sorry for the strange bucketload of sarcasm: this has been discussed previously in several topics. Congrats, though! I think you've posted on this topic with the longest interval ever since someone else posted on it! (a week?)
In short- we don't know, let's see what happens, enjoy the spaceships you do have ![]()
I would speculate that this is essentially an information embargo until the new Asmodee rules go into effect on April 1. If they preview stuff now, online retailers can put up things for preorder.
Not enough context to sense sarcasm. . . I think you want to watch the people decry me and get mad. . . Not a bad reason though. . . Sadly the information is getting further out of date.

No, I was serious. Dead serious!
Actually I suspect Fantasy Flight is already bankrupt, and that more so, an asteroid will crash into Minnesota and obliterate all trace of their existence any day now.
No sarcasm. Seriously. Everyone flee. Armada is discontinued, and it is but the first sign of the apocalypse! RUN AND SAVE YOURSELVES.

No, I am happy not knowing. If they announce Wave 3, I hope they get the release date closer to actual. Wave 2 was Q2 at one point and ended up Q4.
Why is Clon's list broken OP? OMG Raiders suck so bad. Introducing measurements: Your guide to using a ruler. ![]()

I'll give you my address and send some money to cover shipping. You can just send your stuff to me.
I don't think they would discontinue the game, it's still fairly new. I kind of like the fact that they space out expansions a lot. With the price points (not complaining, the game is well worth the price) it gives us the consumers time to collect up multiples of each expansion. Now I'm really new to the game, just started last week and I'm hooked on the game, and I imagine a lot of other people got hooked on it as well. They have made a great game. The mechanics, rules, upgrades, squadrons. I'm looking forward to the future of this game. I sunk by now (week 2 going onto week 3 of starting) $500+ into the game already, and its all well spent.
I really really really want venators!!!
The future's so bright...I've gotta wear Death Star gunnery team shades...
Doom over Gloom any day, at least it's exciting! ![]()
I hope they don't discontinue.. I just spent 600 bucks on this game... as long as there is more ships coming there is easy another 600 in the pipe... what I would like to see is armada translated into an app! Several games on the go... activate, then switch to another game in progress... do something there. Oh look it is my turn over here.. let's see now....

We've already got that. It is called playing multiple games of Vassal on multiple computers. ![]()
