Questioning my Loyalties ( spoilers for Star Wars Rebels "The Honorable Ones")

By jarmus mrawn, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

After watching tonight's episode of Star Wars Rebels "The Honorable Ones" I'm honestly questioning my loyalty to the Empire. My reason for this is that at the end of the episode when Agent Kallus was walking around the ISD Relentless, he was ignored and disrespected by Admiral Kostantine and we also found out that he had more or less donated his whole life to servicing the Empire and was only following orders during the massacre of the Lassat and actually begun to respect Zeb at the end of the episode and while Zeb is welcomed back with open arms, Kallus is treated like trash by people he probably thought were his family and the episode ends on with Kallus contemplating what he has done and reflecting on his life up to this point. I personally find this very depressing and I am actually quite disturbed by the way Kallus is being treated and especially since he was as loyal as the Tarkin and Vader were to the Empire.

Now before this I was a full blown supporter of the Empire, but the fact that someone like Kallus would donate there whole life to the Empire and be treated like a common tool or asset to be thrown around like a slave just depresses me. This honestly makes me wish that Thrawn would just show up restore some of my faith with the Empire, since it seems that he was the only Officer that appreciated the loyalty that his forces had for him and the Empire as a whole.

How you were a full blown supporter of a faction that's quite literally portrayed as black and white evil is beyond me.

Especially the Thrawn trilogy.

Don't listen to it, That show is rebel propaganda and Lies!

Officers that are loyal Always get the respect they deserve

They have nice uniforms! And aesthetically pleasing ships!

Imperial officers are cool guys, and they don't afraid of anything.

The Empire has always been shown as not caring about the lives of its lower ranking soldiers and officers, which is why the TIEs and such were unshielded. The Empire could afford better fighters but it felt its fighter pilots weren't worth the cost because if they got killed they could be replaced. You really need to be a high ranking official or flag officer for the Empire to even notice if you die

One of the reasons why I love the First Order since they actually care about there soldiers, pilots, and officers and don't treat them as expendable.

But then IIRC there were some EU reference books made allusions to Awing aces flying without shields so they could maximise their engine output, in some cases even removing the shield generator all together to make the ship lighter. Perhaps shields are a hinderance to those who are used to flying an armchair strapped to an engineblock.

Did we see the same movie? The one with conditioned stormtroopers who are mindlessly thrown into battle using WW-I human wave tactics? With fighter craft that while updated from the old Tie-fighters were still completely outclassed by the Resistance's updated X-wings and shot down in droves?

They just kidnap them as children and regularly brainwash them into being mindlessly loyal automatons. (Not really all that different from the old republic Jedi).

Yeah, but old republic jedi had a much nicer day care
