After giving it some thought is having Poe Dameron with R2-F2, Push The Limit, and Stealth Device (40) to pricy, crazy. What say you peoples?
Poe the 4 Agi Master
Greens fail eventually. I mean it could work, but there have been times where nothing but blanks has been a thing.
Too expensive, too ineffective.
What you're trying is reasonable on first glance - he's like Soontir Fel, right? He has bonus green modifications and 4 dice! - but the issue you run into is that Soontir can stack up three tokens in a single turn, and generally runs around with at least 1 (even if he double-repositioned).
Your Poe needs a Focus and an R2-F2 action, and if he spends the Focus he loses his extra modification. So fundamentally, he's 4 AGI, with only 1 token at best - and while when Soontir does that he's done a bunch of crazy stuff in one turn, this is Poe sitting still and 'turtled up'. And on top of that, he lacks Autothrusters - that Interceptor title is a big deal for stacking SD & AT simultaneously, where they piggyback off one another.
This is emphasised especially when the same price can net him a regeneration droid, which then asks the question - would you rather have +1 agility every round, or +1 hit point, which is like a retroactive evade you can save? Unless you know for a fact your opponent will be relying on lots of 2-attack unmodified shots or something... I'd rather the hitpoint and action.
Give him Comms relay, Jan Ors crew somewhere, and throw on autothrusters.
EDIT: Right, SD means no AT.
Edited by ComradebotAutothrusters instead of Stealth Device, and you might be on to something. His current weakness is that he only ever blocks 2 damage. R2F2 gives him more chances at getting 3 dodges.
This is important because R2D2 Poe is going to be an easy mark for Ion Cannon TIE/Ds.
The R2-F2 question: When is getting extra agility worth more than a defensive action?
Now, the problem is compounded by the number of dice your opponents are throwing. After you've reached parity between mitigation and damage, you experience diminishing returns.
So: R2-F2 is more relevant with Stealth Device and/or Autothrusters, particularly against TLTs.
Is this truly better than R2-D2 or R5-P9, though?
Never rely on green dice.
Comm Relay is always worth it if you have room for Jan Ors crew in your list
R2-F2 can work with PTL but Stealth Device is a big no no... thrusters all day everyday.
Stealth Device and R2-F2 help against Omega Leader.
Autothrusters and Comms Relay do not.
Integrated Astromech is the upgrade to consider.

By your suggestion, not only Poe will be easy target, but a lot of ships will be easy targets for it.
poe's ability also only works on one focus
Soont's affects all da focus!
also, upping your agility (easily the ficklest; least reliable defense in the game) doesn't actually make you less prey to Tie/Ds; it just makes you waste points on junk upgrades such as r2-f2 and stealth

I just finished a game tonight where I was flying Poe. My opponent had a Bwing firing an Ion Cannon through an asteroid at range 3. He rolls 3 hits. I roll my three green dice. Evade, Focus, Blank. Poe ability changes focus to Evade, and AT changes blank to Evade. Three dodges, no ion. I love love love AT. Luckily it went through the asteroid or I wouldnt have gotten that third die and Poe would be S.O.L. R5-P9 is awesome with Poe, but yeah, at least having that chance to dodge ion cannons and whatnot is a big plus with R2F2. I may throw it in next time and try it out. But AT is a must!!!

Wow, you actually, really don't like green dice. ![]()

Not as much as you might think; 4 green dice roll an average of somewhere between 1 and 2 evades, OL rolls an average of 1 hit and Jukes 1 evade. it's quite likely that he sneaks a hit through even against 4 agility.
Want to keep Poe alive?
Bring Biggs.

They will, but Poe is very common, and isn't cheap.
The R2-F2 question: When is getting extra agility worth more than a defensive action?
But the short answer to this is - when you're getting attacked multiple times and OR have additional actions to stack ontop of it - Poe's ability counts for the "focus action" ontop of the defensive action - alot like R2F2 was decent on luke - Lonewolf R2F2 Stealth Skywalker was a pain to take down - but lost too much on his offense.
Poe's ability means if you R2F2 and focus - you're modding attack and defense - the real trick though - is you give up regeneration, which means you reduce the incoming damage, but the damage that still gets through - you can't deal with. So R2-D2 and R5-P9 are probably stronger buys - since you'll take slightly more damage, but you can negate it afterwards.
Edited by RavncatEvery time I roll enough green dice evades to cancel out an attack, I consider it a bonus. Especially If I am playing Rebel. I wouldn't even put R2F2 on Biggs any more.
Have we learned nothing from Han Solo? The best Defense in X-wing is a good Offense. Dead ships can't roll red dice.

Simultaneous. Fire. Greedo clearly drew a Blinded Pilot crit or Han would have been toast.

Exactly the way to win is hit first hit hardest and never give the other guy time to recover.
