Falcon and Ace, 100 point tourney list

By Karhedron, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have a tournament coming up in a few weeks and I think I will probably run a Falcon and Ace list. Part of the reason is due to time constraints. I am not the fastest player in the world so sticking with just 2 ships should help keep the game simple. Also I am less likely to fly into my own ships.

I prefer Chewie over Han as my Falcon pilot as he is cheaper and pretty tanky. I will still have a Gunner on there for rerolls so he will not be lacking in offense department.

My next choice is which Ace to fly. I am a bit limited as I don't have any T70s yet (no Poe) and I don't have Rebel Aces so no Jake. I think I have narrowed it down to Luke, Wedge or Corran with R2-DR or PTL Tycho with Prokets. Currently I am thinking something like this.

List 1

54 Chewie, Falcon Title, Predator, Gunner, C-3PO

46 Corran Horn, R2-D2, FCS, Lone Wolf, Hull Upgrade

Not sure if the loadout on Corran is optimal. Any advice welcome.

List 2

56 Chewie, Falcon Title, Predator, Luke, C-3PO

36 Tycho, PTL, Proton Rockets, Shield upgrade

Running out of stuff to put on Tycho to bump his cost here. I don't have Auto-thrusters or A-wing Test Pilot unfortunately.

What do people think? For this sort of build, should I be running Han instead? is there a better way to tool and Ace? Should I just buy Poe and have done with it?

All ideas welcome although ideas that do not involve spending extra money will be the most welcome. ;)

So I just ran a Han/Ten numb build and had pretty good success.

B-Wing: · Ten Numb (31)

Veteran Instincts (1)

"Mangler" Cannon (4)

Fire Control System (2)

YT-1300: · Han Solo (46)

Predator (3)

Engine Upgrade (4)

· C-3PO (3)

· R2-D2 (4)

· Millennium Falcon (1)

It is 99 points so you could drop r2 for gunner.

The problem with Ten is he dies as fast as any other bwing, but he is super good for controlling opposing aces. It was nice doing all my shooting before most anything. It is sort of off shooting with my crit machine before I shoot with the normal shots, at least vs shielded ships, so I could see the pull for VI han, freeing you up a couple of points. I dunno, it's probably not the best in the world with two 1 agi ships, but I enjoyed it, strong vs aces.

Personally I would take corran with ptl if possible

Helps to arc dodge and get him up close

As for buying Poe, I had a lot of success with a fat Han/Poe build although I had auto thrusters to counter my opponents turrets

Personally I would take corran with ptl if possible

So PTL would suit Corran more than Lone Wolf? I guess with R2-D2 that makes sense since I will then have 2 reasons to go green. Would Advanced Sensors be better than FCS if I am running PTL?

:(

OK, list is now looking like this.

54 Chewie, Falcon Title, Predator, Gunner, C-3PO

45 Corran Horn, R2-D2, Advanced sensors, Push the Limit

It has the advantage of not needing me to buy anything new and looks pretty good on paper.

Generally, FCS is key on Corran to get that free Target Lock for the end of phase bonus attack.

Instead of Poe, Red Ace (from the single T-70 expansion pack) can be quite strong as a wingman for Han or Chewie. With R2-D2, Comm Relay (from the TIE/fo single expansion pack) and Shield Upgrade (since you don't own Autothrusters), the opponent really doesn't want to leave him for the end game.

Here are a few ideas considering what you may already own:

Han (Push the Limit, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Millenium Falcon, Engine Upgrade)

Luke (Lone Wolf, R2-D2, Shield Upgrade)

99 points (or on Han, Gunner instead of Chewie, for a total of 100 points)

Han (Push the Limit, Jan Ors, Recon Specialist, Millenium Falcon, Engine Upgrade)

Wedge (Predator, R2-D2, Shield Upgrade)

99 points

Chewbacca (Lone Wolf, C-3PO, Gunner, Millenium Falcon)

Corran (Push the Limit, R2-D2, Fire-Control System, Hull Upgrade)

100 points
