Tycho Celchu (26)
Not sure if its the best combo
But it could be alright

That Tycho sounds awesome.
That Tycho sounds awesome.
Jake Farrel, rage, wired, auto thrusters, title, refit is 26 points. Which is not shabby either. A wingmen green squadron might help too.
Rage is a card you use rarely on anything but Tycho. Tycho with Wired, Rage and Autothrusters at 28 isn't bad, but I'd swap out the Autothrusters for Experimental Interface to trigger Rage for effectively free.
Though cool that is a lot of points for 2 red dice
Common misconception that an A-wing is 'just' 2 red dice.
Most commonly (with Jake and Tycho), it's a range 1, 3 dice shot with focus and re-rolls.
Better than a similar costed, less nimble ship like an X-wing taking a range 2 shot with a focus.
And much more fun to fly.

A-wings could very well be the most fun ship to fly in the game

Gah, so boring. Let's get creative. With EI and PTL... you literally are maxed on actions. Boost, PTL Evade, EI Rage (no need to ever TL). I suppose you could double up on focuses... But really there are diminishing returns on PTL imo. So what else can you do with that second EPT?
VI is the default answer to make him PS10. Expose will be viable if there's a move away from PS9... Sadly that'll also mean that whatever hunts Fel, Whisper, Corran and Poe is probably going to hunt Tycho as well. EH wouldn't be bad. Wired gives free rerolls for defense, and some sort of modifier in case you get blocked. DD makes it next to impossible to block you.

100% agree, especially the Psycho Tycho variant. People often overlook the puny little 2 attack A wing, and don't live to regret it.
The most appealing thing about Tycho is he is an ace that is immune to stress-based Ace counters, unlike Jake.
The most interesting question of whether to run EI or Autothrusters. The A-Wing doesn't have a barrel roll and Target Lock is useless, so EI gives us either Boost, Evade, Rage or Focus, Evade, Rage, basically just gives us a free Evade or Focus on defense. Is that better than Autothrusters?

You can take an evade if you think you Will need it
Double down on focus
Or even boost to get a better shot
Tycho can do just fine without Autothrusters, I took Psycho Tycho through a Regionals without him dying once. The thing that is tempting with Rage instead of DD on that build is to be able to boost into Range 1, PtL for an Evade and then EI for Rage, then I will have Focus+Evade and 3 rerolls on my PR, otherwise I'd have to spend one round on grabbing a TL beforehand if I go up against a turreted ship. However losing that mobility will also be rough, I'm not entirely sold on Rage, but I will try it out.

This is my favorite (future) Tycho (+/- Prockets). Boost, Evade, Focus, and (effectively) Target Lock every. single. turn. Not to mention +4 Stress every. single. turn!

Collecting stress while flying Tycho is almost a minigame in itself
How much stress can you get before the game ends!?!
You could also use Expert Handling to give him a better barrel roll:
Tycho Celchu (32)
A-Wing (26),
A-Wing Test Pilot (0),
Chardaan Refit (-2),
Expert Handling (2),
Experimental Interface (3),

Which won't matter at all because you'll get TLT'd to death while looking dreamily at those Autothrusters you should have brought instead of the Interface.

I found this wasn't as much of a problem as initially seems.
With the list as is you are pretty much still getting the needed evade, as well as two focuses on turns you don't boost. I love me some auto thrusters but they aren't as needed on Psycho Tycho as they are on other ships
It's still thirty points for a 2-attack arc'd ship.
Not automatically a loss, but ATC Vader comes out at very similar prices, y'know?
I know it would bump him up to 37pts but wouldn't Rage + Clusters be more ideal? Rage would proc for both Cluster Attacks.

Except you would need to spend one action to target lock to do so
Not that big of a deal but I prefer double focus and evade in the barrel

Well considering that Clusters are R1-2 that R3 TL on a target would be 'Highlighting' but it would potentially force your opponent to be extra cautious of Tycho's Arc and Range . And/Or direct even more heat his way...
