We Need A Price Check On: Torpedoes

Also depends on what it is you are loading up. Seismic Charges are pretty cheap and EM makes it only 1 pt each. Flechette Torps are also only 1 pt each if you go that way.

Even then, I've had plenty of Tie Bombers run out of Homing Missiles (I usually use 2) and survive to end of game. I think going with just one is pretty lame. Getting 2 is usually worth it more often than not.

I am of the firm believe that Torpedoes should have been with two shots for the price. Extra Munitions has demonstrated this capability. Therefore I would support future copies of all the munitions that come with an extra munitions token but NOT combined with extra munitions for two points more. For example, an A-Wing can equip a 5 point Double Proton Rocket which adds an extra munitions token.

As for Ion Torpedoes, I use them for EPIC but I do believe for the damage output they are priced a little high. Compared to Assault Missile and Homing Missile, they just don't do the damage and the odds of having splash damage on a 100pt dogfight is minimal. Either increase them to do 2 ion splash damage or reduce by 1 point.

Slightly off topic, but I'm thinking this may be the best place to price-check a card for the [CCL] contest.

Just as inacurate as Flechette Torpedo, but has to actually hit to have any effect. If it hits a Deci or Ghost, though, it can be extremely powerful.

No, it really isn't. Please use your own CCL threads for CCL things.

Ion torpedoes:

1: Sacrificing the target lock makes the attack miss small ships too often to be worth it.

2: Just 1 ion token has no effect on those ships you actually can hit.

3: Against good player's the times you can actually benefit from the Ion AoE usually comes at the same time you would be Ioning your own ships.

Proton torpedoes:

1: Because you get the free Focus mod it devalues the one modification token you might actually have on you when you finally line up a perfect shot. No re-roll's make this a Dead-on-arrival card and it has been so since day 1 of X-wing.

2: If that is not enough proof try counting out on your fingers how many times you've seen a Proton torp fired by anything but a Jumpmaster.
