So when ARE we allowed to talk about these ships taking forever on the boat?

By Jaden Ckast, in X-Wing

Am I the only one who wishes they would deliberately avoid releasing details on, say, one pilot and one upgrade for each ship so no-one actually knows what they're going to be before people start opening the plastic on release day?

They... do virtually exactly that already.

Ghost: Thermal Detonators, generic VCX pilot.

Inquisitor's TIE: second generic pilot.

Punishing One: Overc... Agr...

Mist Hunter: both generic pilots.

Pilots with abilities, natch. :)

I'm sure they do that occasionally, but for me, the current setup of this wave is fine; there are ships I know I want, there are ships I don't know whether I want until I see the remaining information.

Seems about right.

It is all about marketing. If you creates "anticipation" and the " I need these...4 each" you sell more units. The problem is that we, as players, are a bunch of kids that behave as ansioux kids. You NEED future releases.

I too, of course, but as an old wargamer dog to employ only one part of the new expansion, is weird to me. You know cards A,B and D. No idea about C and E. But we fly with them NOW.

This is not for me. When I can read Cards A to E, give me four each, thanks.

But as we have no problem creating custom cards or rules, perhaps my friends and I are less dependant on official FFG releases. Buy them when hit the shelves, and zero drama.

But I need those Mist Hunters. BRRRRR !!!!

Some semblance of an update from Chaos Cards, my online shop of choice here in the UK. Received a newsletter from them which included the below;

"We appreciate that everyone's waiting very patiently for their Wave 8 ships, so we're sharing every tiny little scrap of news we get! We have heard a rumour - and we must stress, this is unconfirmed and unofficial - that Wave 8 will be touching down soon, and that we can expect it to arrive with us -hopefully, fingers crossed - by Mid-March. That's about 2 - 3 weeks away!!! So we could be in the final stretch! We have also heard - again unofficially - that there will be an official release date this time, which means everyone should be releasing their stock to customers at the same time. This would eliminate the mad rush to be the first to release stock and make the playing field for all stockists a little more even, which is great news for us, and will mean that your choice of retailer to preorder with won't be a gamble on who gets their stock first, which means a more reliable service for you! So we're crossing our fingers that everything we've heard turns out to be true!"

So even retailers are working on speculation and hearsay, but thought I would share in case anyone else is hearing the same thing!
