Dice notations for fan made scenarios *OP Updated*

<B><B> worked, but <BB> didn't. That shouldn't be a problem though. <BB> or <BBB> would be a symbol for 2x<B> of 3x<B>.

FIXED

Now multiple symbols (of the same type of course) between pair of brackets can be used for dice.

Symbols for dice faces will stay as they are (one symbol, or no symbol for each face).

On behalf of the WFRP3, Thank You. Great work - it looks really sick aplauso.gif

I wonder if I might offer what I hope is a constructive criticism of Nez Notation.

I find that when I read the game rules with the symbols I tend to translate those symbols into the names of the dice (i.e. the symbol for [W] is translated in my mind as "Fortune die/dice").

However, when reading Nez Notation the color letters seem to mess with this translation. When I am looking at a [W] my brain gets confused as to why something with a W would stand for something that starts with an F.

I had thought this would be easy to fix using my own version of Nez Not:
® = Reckless stance dice
© = Conservative stance dice
[M] = Misfortune dice
[F] = Fortune dice
[E] = Expertise dice

However, this system breaks down with the 8-sided Characteristic and Challenge dice, but then I thought perhaps this would work:
<Cr> = Characteristic dice
<Cl> = Challenge dice

That's not very satisfying for me because I like the simplicity of the single letter system, however, I thought I would offer this as an attempt to help make Nez Notation stronger.

lol - it's not a 'standard', you can do whatever you like with it. It was a silly idea that sort of became useful.

Personally, I like the colors. That way, you don't have to remember what the dice is actually called (challenge, misfortune, fortune, expertise, etc.). There's only one color with the same first letter in each die size. It worked out pretty well.

I thought it was really easy to remember

Three dice shapes, [ ] < > ( ) with color letters in the middle

Then { } bad and * * good dice with the first letter of the symbol

You have to get used to things like {B} Bane vs *B* Boon, and <B> Blue vs. Black, but it doesn't take long.

Is there a thread here that says how many of each icon are on each die?

It's in one of the javascript files for Sunatet's dice roller. Check out the data at the bottom of this file:

Excellent work with the die roller !

It's a lot of help and well done.
