I can't help with wanting to fly Luke or Wedge .. but just stick a T-65 model on a T-70 base and BAM! You can fly X-Wings that perform like T70s
T-70 retrofit

And three of those dials that came with Most Wanted are completely useless. I'd much rather have had more base tiles.
They weren't useless when the set was originally announced, and most likely, during the planning stages. Besides, gamers can be OCD at times, so they included faction specific dials.
Yes, they were useless even then although I'll admit that a case of OCD could be a reason they were seen.
Why do we need a fix? Can already do Engine upgrade, shield upgrade, surelt that pretty much does the job?

Nooooo, they really weren't as you were originally required to use faction specific dials. That was changed only later, after the release.

You've NEVER had to use the Scum dial from Most Wanted for your Firespray or HWK. Someone jumped the gun before they were released and mistakenly said the new dials had to be used but that was never the actual rule. Ok, maybe it was for the one day between when the FAQ first came out covering it and when it was corrected less that 24 hours later.

Its pretty good, but is really pricy. I ran 2 Red Squadrons with PTL, EU and Shield Upgrade, integrated astro, and R2 astro, they performed well, but were they worth the points? probably not.
This upgrade seems unlikely to me because I don't think they will pack another dial just for one card.
Eh, Most Wanted came with 6 dials but only 3 ships. A Rebel Veterans boxed set could very easily be packaged with more dials if that's where the upgrade came from. It's just a couple cardboard circles.
I don't think his fix is valuable as written, but if they really wanted to sell a lot of copies of a Rebel Veterans boxed set, they'd pack it with T-65 upgrade dials, lol.

I bought into X-Wing to play Scum, and using Most Wanted, I was able to eBay/trade/part out the individual Firespray/HWK/etc. ships without having to buy a full price blister and get a bunch of cardboard I didn't need, and I doubt I'm the only Scum player who did this. So those dials saved me a huge amount of money when starting the hobby.
Edited by overduegalaxyThere is an issue with this. I tried for many months to get my T-65 Title Card ideas out there. The first issue is the hardcore Star Wars fans who are the equivalent of a "bible thumper" when it comes to Star Wars lore. The second issue is the community who is adamant that the T-70 was meant to replace the T-65, and that the T-65 should be no more (well them and the people against boost).
When I got those "canon and extended universe thumpers" they told me that a lot of the T-65 Pilots died, or would be too old by the time the T-70 came out. They also gave me h** non stop saying that my Title Card ideas were not part of any movie or things of that nature. It wasn't true because the T-65B model is what Luke flew.
As for the T-70 people, they were saying that they shouldn't bother with the T-65. They should just make new T-70 pilots with similar abilities. It's why I suggested adding Jess and "Snap" as a "middle ground" suggestion.
You can find my latest versions/revisions of my ideas here. Perhaps my ideas will give you an idea of some sort. This is Jess and "Snap"
There is Engine upgrades yes but, it is costly. Look at this way.. Mathematically a T-70 at lowest cost is 24 points. They get 1 more shield and an Engine Upgrade basically. That is 8 points of upgrade for 3 points more than a T-65. So to make it worth while for the T-65 you got to give it to them for free (if you were to do it that way)

Every bit of evidence points to FFG changing their minds after the products were too far along in production.
Take Porkins with PTL, R5-D8, and either IA or Hull Upgrade. Have plenty of debris he can mostly ignore. Okay, he's no Soontir Fel, but he's still mildly beastly on the table.
Haven't flown my Porkins yet, as I just recently got the rebel transport pilots. This sounds fun.
I think a T-65 refit would be a nice simple fix. Just like the awing, lose torpedoes and cost of ship goes down -2. Easy, simple, makes Rookie Pilot at 19pts for a 3-2-3-2 ship. Luke at reasonable 26pts.

The x-wing's already over priced so adding another 4 points on top isn't the best solution plus you can take a t-70 for less that's got an extra shield.
No it wants a title that gives broll and perhaps a point discount.

Although you can argue if the T-70 is worth it you should NEVER see an EU or SU on the generic X-Wings because you can get both, for less, plus other stuff on the generic T-70s. Have a 3 point upgrade that gives both EU and SU benefits the generic T-70 is still a little better than the T-65 but could be usable if you don't have the T-70.
With the unique X-Wings that 3 points to update the T-65 to near T-70 standards would go a long ways even if it still occupied the modification slot so you didn't need to worry about Autothrusters coming into the equation as well. It would make all the X-Wings a bit tougher and gives the shooters that post maneuver adjustment that is so useful it seems everyone has one.
You know what the t-65 needs? Better pilots. And I'm not talking about cards.
