Advice wanted to Custom a Tantine

By Hexdot, in X-Wing

Recently I purchased a second hand Tantine, some Damage on starboard single turbolaser but otherwise OK. One of those poor models owned by a player who wanted C3 PO and left the ship.in a no child proof shelve... Only 25 euros... Can not refuse.

So I will ask a friend to do a little paint job, simple and easy. The idea is to show some battle damage and low maintenance. Some advice? I am quite dumb about painting...

There's some great vids on YouTube regarding weathering. Ichiban painting, Dr. Fausts painting clinic and Buypainted are just a few. Do a YouTube search for "painting x-wing miniature" and you'll find a lot of links. I must warn you some are easier to watch than others.

You should check out the internet sites for AK Interactive and Ammo by MIG. Both have a hints and tips pages ror using their products.

Fine Scale Modeler is a great mag. They have some good hints and tips.

Finally, The Weathering Magazine. This deals with the whole spectrum of weathering and models.

Hope this gives you a place to start.

Thanks a lot. No idea so many resources about painting x wing models on youtube...I am not the smarter guy doing searches. So I will say...I WANT LIKE THIS !!!

Keep it simple !

That disgraced models left in a child's hand...

And do not start your painting career with one of the most expensive models in the game. :P.

No !!!! I will say a guy who knows the difference between goblin green.and pine green...I WANT LIKE THIS. WORK. FAST.
