McGuffin for Parlemian Haul

By derroehre, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Just curious what you would put in the Cargo Holds of the parlemian trade haul für mildy heroic PC's (that need to be reminded that they are indeed heroic).

The campaign is about overthrowing the evil Moff, whom they only know by name so far. What would be a convincing find to motivate a group to take him down?

(and I'm not sure that the empathy route works reliably, looking more for "yep, that guy is dangerous to us")

Out of the blue, whats your first idea, no wrong answers, step right up, every tickets a winner!

Something useful for his evil mechanizations, related to his ties to CIS, like copious amounts of poison gas or combat droids...

A number of alien, near human and humans either stuck in carbonate or medical stasis tubes in medical gowns with some clearly cybernetic who remain in stasis until at some point an ISB Agent deactivates the stasis or reverses the carbonising process releasing them mostly deranged...

Of course it's all a diversion for the ISB Agent to send a distress signal to call in reinforcements... on the plus side the reinforcements ship will be their only means of escape now the released prisoners have badly damaged their existing ship.

So an Imperial Custom Frigate take your fancy?

A super-advanced dark trooper, Like a phase 4 Darktrooper. That usually can get players to run.

Some sort of experimental virus, or plague.

Maybe some sort of cache of B-2 droids?

I tend to recommend making things 'one step removed' early one - let them take a while to figure out what's going on (in character, at least) but make it something they can't ignore.

For example:

"We searched the ship. One cargo container apparently hold stormtrooper armour components -greaves, cuirasses and shoulder pauldrons".

"Okay......is that a big deal?"

"Twice. Firstly, the Haul's records don't list where it was brought on board, or where it was headed, other than by a facility identifier code number we don't recognise. Secondly, they appear to be sized for something the height of Wookies."

"....Maybe we should investigate this."
