Was I right to buy a second Kihraxz?

By SDCC, in X-Wing

I've had great success with 4 or 5 in casual games. Lack of repositioning keeps me from trying them in a tournament but I haven't lost a casual game yet.

I run either 4 black sun aces with crackshot and 2 glitterstim or 5 cartel marauders. A variation I like is 4 marauders with an ion Scyk for 99 points. They have a lot of firepower and are beefy enough to last surprisingly long.

I tried 3 crackshot aces with VI tractor beam Serissu and the list is deadly. Tractored Vader back into 2 arcs that he dodged for three range 1 shots from the aces = dead Vader.

I got owned by a 5 Kihraxz list on Saturday. Its very strong with 5 3-dice attacks per round. The player went on to make the top 4. It's a strong list and a lot of fun.

I love having a pair of these supporting Boba and Bossk, plus the upgrades are totally worth it.

I have repainted my M3-A's and Kirahxz's in a different paint scheme and love them. Shame the Syck's don't see more use ;)

Yes. Now go buy another three. Or one and two Scyks.

I am currently repainting my Gozanti in Hutt colors, I love it. It's the only model I have out on display at home, but I have 4 Syck's attached to it. It looks great.

When I'm done with it, I plan on taking it to an epic game and insisting that I am from a parallel universe where the Empire ultimately lost and the Hutts took over everything.

the special K is a really nice jouster, if you can stand typical jouster dice (I can't)

it's relatively cheap, punches hard (though is a bit squishy) and has a beautiful dial with a choice of K-turns, which is something really on the Tie Fighter boasts at that point level (alpha squadron interceptors don't count because they suck at jousting)

controlling the distance on your K-turn grants some surprising flexibility to an otherwise stiff ship, as does the sexy 1-turns

I have 2. They are great fun for the generics only 25-40pt games. They have an interesting dial that makes them on par with the Xwing but that's not exactly where they want to be. With Glitterstim they get just a little more durable but still not there... I fully expect a Special K and Scyk fix because both are pretty dreadful competitively.

I take a black sun ace with expert handling at 25pts for our single ship games and can usually pull a win. Glimmer+crackshot is also great if you have 26pts. It'll punch pretty hard.

**** shame that "the hunter" didn't get an EPT. I think he'd see play if he did.

Yes. Now go buy another three. Or one and two Scyks.

I've already got two Scyks...

Seems there is quite a bit of love for the K's!

Good to hear. I've got all the Scum ships so I've got options.

Considering I have other ships to fit in, and like the YV or Fett, is it worth going to PS5 and getting an EPT? Marauders with Glitter look pretty handy and keep more points for the rest.

It does suffer from being squishy, like many other S&V ships, and of course the lack of repositioning without investment is a bit of a drag, BUT I like them even so. Aces with minimal upgrading seem super fun and with the Illicit slot on all models you have lots of flexibility for making them deadly. I think I might actually try Feedback Array or Hot Shot Blaster on them, come to think of it...

I have a feeling they might start really getting sexy with all the more Alpha strikey meta, Glitterstim included of course. 2x Aces with Concussions with an offensive 1-2 point Ept just might be worthwhile. Wired, Cool Hand and Crackshot are all lookng tempting. :3c

I've won and lost with 5 Kihraxz Fighters on the board. It has great potential for damage. Like others have said, it is kind of like an X-Wing, but you don't want to fly it as a Jouster as it cannot go slow. It can turn on a dime, but lacks movement. It has multiple K-Turns, which makes them deadly if you choose poorly or correctly (the less you use them the better you will be).

If you like to mix and match, it pairs with Scyks as the only difference in dials is the red component. Though, i would daresay you weaken the list currently doing that.

It is a fun ship, and you will pretty much know after the first engagement whether you are going to win or lose the match.

Roughly 1pt overpriced with lack of Cool Tricks is never going to leave them great, but they're not awful either.

Bit too squishy vs TLTs for my liking, though I'm happy enough with them if I ever want a 3-attack filler ship.

(Now to find enough Scum small ships worth their salt that aren't in the 25pt range, so you ever have a 20pt gap... :P)

5x Z-95

2x Khiraxz

It's fun.

5x Khiraxz is fun.

Trandonshan Slaver with tactician/gunner/bossk and 3x Khiraxz is fun.

I've got a second Kihraxz (never know if I'm spelling it correctly), despite not seeing many being used.

Me? I mostly bought them for the cards.
