I'm sure someone has already suggested this, but I wanted to throw it out to see what people thought (and for FFG to take my advice! ) It seems like the only possible ability that makes sense for Obi Wan is like the emperor but for your opponent!

Once per round, you may change an enemy ship's die result to any other die result. That die result cannot be modified again.

Not sure the point cost or how many crew slots, but holy cow thematic! "These are not the dice you are looking for...."

Imagine how fun it would be to crit going over a debris. Or uber Damaged Sensor Array. Major Explosion anyone?, yes! Or the worst weapons failure or structural damage you've ever seen. Oh the possibilities....

Wouldn't that ability be more in line with Qui-Gon Jinn?

I disagree. The only truly thematic ability for Obi-Wan would be "You may discard this card to remove all tractor beam tokens on your ship."

You may discard this card to force your opponent to discard their Darth Vader Crew card.

I think Marksmanship is the Obi-wan card. use the Force and hit your target.

An Obi-wan crew would read: 0 points. Whenever your opponent proclaims you got lucky, take a free acton to reply "there is no such thing as luck."

Yeah, Obi-Wan should thematically do something involving Tractor Beams (a bit too niche), adding Focus tokens or removing any sort of randomness from your dice rolls.

I always though Obi-Wan card would be a great alternative to the bye cards given out. After all "there are alternatives to fighting."

A one point card stopping tractor beam on the ship he is equipped and it being an action to do it on other ships at 1-2 range would be cool.

I've been playing around with this custom card - during your darkest hour he sacrifices himself to save you.

I'd go with a slightly simpler and more powerful ability (which I cooked up independently of Mangipan, so I think we're probably on the right track with this):

Obi-Wan Kenobi; Rebel only; unique; crew; 0 points

When any of your ships is attacking or defending, you may discard this card to change all of their blank results into [focus] results.

This should really cost 1 point, but I love the idea of every Rebel squad with a free crew slot taking the old man along.

I think you're fairly on the money there - though I don't think you can get away with making him a zero point upgrade. I think this is probably a more correct wording (It's also shorter, which is a bonus.)

As an action to cause stress on someone might be cool.

or same as landing on an asteroid as an effect.

Going by the movie, the only on-ship use Obi-Wan would have is the ability to Blinded Pilot yourself.

What does blinding a pilot do?

"Run Luke Run!"

Discard to allow a friendly ship to perform a free Boost or Barrel Roll Action. (1)

What does blinding a pilot do?

Gets the police busting down your door. Lasers are not toys.

Wow i love this idea. Really really love this one. But i guess hes too strong here. I guess once per ship, per turn would be more in line.

You forget that Obi Wan hates flying and has a bad feeling about this.

Interestingly I wonder what PS Obi Wan would have, he presumably did a fair amount of flying during the clone wars...

I like that, but I prefer this one:

Crew upgrade, "After you are hit by an attack, you may discard this card to become more powerful than your enemy can possibly imagine." Cost -2.

This is what I posted on Reddit:

At the start of the combat phase, you may discard this card. If you do, enemy ships inside your firing arc cannot target you this round if they have another target. Receive one stress token.

It has a glitterstim sorta biggsy feel.

Funnily enough, someone in that Reddit thread suggested Obi-Wan be able to remove upgrades from other ships. This was met with much disdain. Then, Boba Fett crew was revealed.
