Dual Punishers??

So I bought a punisher, and turns out someone else just bought me a punisher as a gift!

So, are there any decent dual punisher lists, or should I trade it in for something else?

I don't think you'll ever take the two named pilots together and the generics Arnt worth it with bombers around so I'd trade it.

Don't be so hasty! FFG wants to sell ships, multiples whenever possible. There is no reason to believe that there wont be an upgrade card that will make you wish you had 2 punishers ;)

It's a lousy $15, I'd keep it.

Do you like the Extra Munitions or Mk.2 engines?

You can in fact take both of them, and I've seen someone do just that to good effect. That's a lot of damage and control (with connors on Deathrain), and it leaves you enough points for a FO ace or other mid-20s ship.

If you do decide to trade one of then, feel free to check out my trade stuff linked in my signature.

I'd keep it for the Extra Munitions and TIE Mk2 cards, but the ship itself you're unlikely to use more than one of unless, like me, you want one to paint and one to leave unpainted in case you wreck the first one trying to take it apart to paint it :(

I'm thinking I'll take it to my FLGS and see if they'll trade it for a Z-95 Headhunter expansion.

Thing is punishers Arnt b-wings you can't fly them naked and get a decent return on your points the tie advanced was 21 points too and pre fix never saw play.

Loading down a generic one agility small ship is a bad idea it'll die before it unloads its torps.

And much like facing two named expensive b-wings wouldn't worry me neither does a list that's 2/3 punisher.

Yeah, but the model is freaking awesome looking and that's half the decision-making process for me. ;-)

i fought 2 fully tricked out punishers at Christmas with Poe, Kyle Kartarn with tlt and 2 tlt y wings...

tore them apart in about 3 turns

Deathrain+ExMunitions+Flechette Torps+Prox Mines+AdvSensors +Twin Ion Engine (39)

Redline+ExMunitions+Flechette Torps+Cluster Missles +FCS (37)

2x Tie Academy Pilots (24)

100 Total.

Use the Academies to block and deny actions. Flechettes to give stress and Clusters and Prox Mine to seal the deal close up. I might try this one soon. I've had some success with Redline and 4 Ties against Crack Swarms and some Scum build, but never thought to try 2 until now.

Redline and deathrain when appropriately kitted out leave room for a tie advanced with tittle and accuracy corrector

Omega Leader with Comms Relay and Juke is only 26 points. That is 74 points to spend on Deathrain and Redline.

You're going to want Conner nets and Seismic Charges on Deathrain. No rolls involved, just straight damage.

Redline works great with Plasma Torpedoes.

Deathrain needs 1 of the following, they all have their uses, but I would not put more than one or you use up points Redline needs:

Enhanced Scopes

Accuracy Corrector

Fire Control System

Advanced Sensors

Experimental Interface.

Do not underestimate the 1 point Enhanced Scopes, on a Bomber it can be used to avoid low PS ships that try to block you.

Conner nets with experimental Interface is a really strong combo. If you try to fit a 2nd Conner net instead of a cheaper bomb, you're going to have Redline a little light on the payload.

Don't forget, you also get extra bomb Tokens with the punisher that you can't find many other places.

Omega Leader + Double Punishers is a fun list, you have to play ballsy.

I've beaten triple Interceptors with it.

A Punisher isn't bad for its elite pilots. But you need to remember that those pilots, for all their hitpoints, are actually squishy glass cannons, much like an HLC B-wing would be.

Two punishers... well, make sure you've got something seriously shooty & squishy to go with 'em on the list. A generic Phantom, perhaps? It's about the only thing I can think of that will compare. :D

Prior to the existence of lock down I loaded redline and loaded deathrain with juno, a ton of fun to play but with an occasionally painful endgame. I like your idea.

If you're going for bombs, I'd go with one Conner and one Proton Bomb.

Prox Mines are unmodified red dice. Hit focus blank, every ******* time.

Cluster Mines since they count crits as blanks are unmodified green dice basically, even worse.

So you're best off just getting a guaranteed hit and some sweet control effects. You were only going to do 1.5 damage anyways, might as well ionize them and deny them actions with a Conner.

Conners are the only good mine, and Proton Bombs do damage that sticks to regen. And when your opponent forgets that you have them it will be devastating instead of mildly annoying. I splashed a Proton across a RAC, Epsilon, and Omega Leader last time I played with my glorious Extra Munitions Proton Bomb PS 10 Imperial Boba. The crit on the Deci was a direct hit, Omega Leader was a Direct Hit, and I forgot what the one on the generic FO was.

A few turns later I got another on Omega Leader. Killed through shields.

The problem with this is that Deathrain is PS 6 and Redline is PS 7 and Proton Bombs get significantly more powerful when you move last. But ACTION bombs (AKA mines) get better with low PS, so you could drop a Conner and then drop an unavoidable Proton Bomb next turn.

I've never played Deathrain. Redline with FCS and Clusters even pre-chips can just burn thing down, haven't used him either but he's nasty.

Problem is these two together leave only 25 points .

You could knick DR's correctors down to the VASTLY inferior FCS (not as inferior as proxies from conners) and bring juke + relay omega

Otherwise? Zeta? Doom shuttle?

I actually run enhanced scopes to fit omega leader

3 punishers all with prox mines and cluster mines... control the board.. and it's fun to fly around just dropping ordnance and watching the opponent go wide eyed as he sees the things he has to dodge that are more nasty than the asteroids.. lol

We have someone play two Punisher'so all the time.. He kicks butt with them.
