Solo Decimator advice?

By Weirdo, in X-Wing

I feel like Arc-dodging is less viable when every ship on the board is likely to have a turret.

I'd probably go with Kenkirk to give myself a little more survivability while also representing less of an offensive threat - which is important in a scrum.

Kenkirk

Lone Wolf

Ysanne

That gives you 10 points to work with.

Palatine is good, but might make you a target again. Rebel Captive, on the other hand, makes it so nobody wants to be the first to target you...

Recon Specialist with Lone Wolf on Kenkirk makes him insanely tanky. Rebel Captive is also really good. For your last four points, I would consider a hull upgrade or maybe a Seismic+Extra Munis

I suppose I neglected to mention that everyone else in the local group is just as inexperienced as me, as we all got into the game just after this last Christmas. I'll be surprised if any of these famous builds show up.

That being said, what on/off earth is a Mango Dash? It sounds like something I should chuck plasma at anytime it does up.

Dash Rendar with a Mangler Cannon.

Probably not the best Dash build normally, as people like SOontir are more or less immune to single shots from Mangler Cannons, but in this format potentially strong, fat han excepted. HLCDash is gonna be better though.

Actually Standard Super Soontir might not actually be a bad ship for this format. Pick an enemy turret, dodge the others, shoot the enemy turret until it dies, laugh as you are immune to its best efforts, repeat until everything dies or your green dice fail you and you gloriously explode.

Oiccun, with Intimidation, Anti Pursuit Lasers, Mark Jade, Rebel Captive and Tactician.

You'll have more fun than anyone else in the room and you make whoever you bump a better target!

In a format like this, survivability is king. You want to discourage people from shooting you so that you have a chance at the end.

Some format issues... lone wolf, why on Earth not? Its nothing but win for the most cost-effective card in the game, especially once you remove the negative.

Kenkirk - the only decimator with some survivability.

Rebel Captive - it doesn't punish everyone for shooting you, but it punishes the _first_ guy to do it... which is bad for them in a scrum.

So, Kenkirk + Lone Wolf + Ysanne + Rebel Captive is 53 points.

The rest is up to you. I like Gunner and Ion Projector (or Ion bomb). I also like something unexpected like Recon Specialist (further discouraging attacks on you.. or wit hilarity: Flight Instructor (if you're worried about stress).

I would avoid Mara Jade at all costs as it gives people a reason to team up on you.

I was thinking something like that, with the added benefit of bumping a ship that can then not shoot at you.

AND having worked it out, ditch Tactician and you have points for Extra Munitions, Title and Cluster Mines, which works well for bumping fun! Especially if they're moving after you and through your APLs.
