I'd probably drop the Gunner from Kath for an Unhinged Astromech and an Engine Upgrade on Kavil. You need to make sure you can get into Range 1, and both UA and EU open up Kavil's ability to move a lot.
The autoblaster on Kath feels like it runs against her ability a bit - she's at her best when shooting from her rear arc, and the autoblaster only works out the front. I've had a decent amount of luck with a Predator plus Engine Upgrade build on Kath, as it gives you some extra manoeuvrability and guaranteed attack dice modification regardless of action.
Kath is really good with Push the Limit, K4 Security Droid and Engine Upgrade. It makes her very killy indeed.
I personally like Palob as an accompaniment. Had never really considers a Y-Wing but it looks good. 2 Ys would give you some really consistent damage output and a lot of hit points to chew through.
I like Kath with vi engine and tactician I've learned flying Kath dont try to force the rear arch and tact makes you oppent either rush into range 1 where you get a bonus die attack or hanger at range 3 for extra defence
Firesprays are my favorite.
I like the point-blank feel that the use of autoblasters gives. Also, the two binayre pirates can be helpful for blocking other ships to ensure that kath gets a shot.
I just played in a store championship and made 8th flying:
kath + heavy laser cannon + outmaneuver + K4 security droid + glitterstim + engine upgrade, 2x Cartel Marauder + inertial dampners = 99 pts.
I found that hlc wasn't worth the points as I was often using my aux firing arc anyway. The K4 droid pushes you into doing a lot of 1bank maneuvers so the engine upgrade acts as insurance for getting the enemy in your aux firing arc. My only issue with Kath is that shooting at boosting high PS ships like Poe is difficult, however with your pirates your might be able to block movement. Factoring in some of my observations, reiterating some of the thoughts above and looking at your build, I created the build below:
Kath Scarlet 38 + Push the Limit 3 + K4 security droid 3 + engine upgrade 4
Syndicate thug 18 + twin laser turret 6 + R4 agromech 2
2x Binayre Pirate 12
= 98 pts
The idea is to take block enemy movement with the pirates and then shred them with Kath + target lock + focus + aux arc.
I dropped Kavil down to a Syndicate thug with TLT to add some extra shredding damage while keeping the ships from your list intact.
There's a guy in our group who runs Boba with Autoblaster and he has a lot of fun - and a lot of victories too. The synergy of Boba and Autoblaster can't be under-estimated. Sorry - not sure what else his loadout is on Boba, but you might want to think about swapping Kath out for Boba + AB + EU and take some of the other suggestions to make a 100 point squad
Scum ships that can take the K4 seriously should! I prefer Kath over Boba, but that's probably more about play style. Because of Kath's ability I dont give her a cannon as I am trying to get rear shots as often as possible.

I pair her up with Palob in his HWK and normally Kaa'to in the Z95.
Palob steals evades/focus' while kath tries to get to range 1 and shoot with 5 dice from her rear, K4 gives a lock. I like PTL with her too as you can boost and focus to ensure maximum damage. I am between outmaneuver and PTL, both have their merits.
