Good Old R2-F2! Only thing I did differently was to add EI to Wedge with a similar build.

My early squads typically involved Soontir Fel, Turr Phennir and a couple of TIE Fighters or Kath Scarlet. Eventually I turned to the Lambda, and ran a variety of builds, from Doom to Buzzsaw to Jendon. Nothing really awful, I think, but pre-Autothrusters I got pretty sick of playing Interceptors against twin pancakes.
Absolutely!!!!!!!!
I started with TIE swarm, Howl, Backstabber, 5 OSPs...
It really was a great list to learn with and set the tone for me for learning the game, the value of self bumping and SO much more!
As a beginner I built a few lists using Leebo and Expert Handling. I thought those cards were crazy good, but I didn't see anyone else using them. I thought I was a genius who was just way ahead of the curve.
Eventually somebody explained to me that the "free action" granted by these cards wasn't really "free". Activating the card still uses your regular action, which was news to me (and totally counter intuitive, but the reasoning was later explained).
Good times, good times.

I remember when I finally got Vader I was excited to DOUBLE BARREL ROLL!!!!!
I really wanted a loaded Kyle Katarn (after playing the video games as a kid) HWK to work, but he never made it past turn 4 in most games....

What was I even thinking?
I used to think Imperial Firesprays were the biggest thing since slice bread with a HLC on top, so Krassis seemed like the best option in the world. Then I had a bomber with Proton Torps I think and two Ties.
I had Vader before the fix with Engine, Boba and Fel without PTL! 'High PS pilots, what can go wrong' I said! My opponents where so confused about Fel.
and Fel without PTL!
Before I had access to PtL, Elusiveness was my 'go to' EPT for him.
Edited by That One GuyThe thing is, x-wing is great at balancing forces. Even for lists that a "beginner" would put together, a well thought out 100 point list will always have a chance at beating any other equally thought out 100 point list. The only real difference is your own ability to fly it right.
For example, a TIE or Z-95 swarm is one of the most basic lists I can think of, but in the right hands can be just devastating.
