Two fleets, same doctrine, different approach.

Looking to try something a little different at this store champ:

Motti VSDs: 399

ISD I

Motti

Flight controllers

Boosted Comms

Expanded Hanger Bay

VSD II

Intel Officer

Heavy Turbos

Dominator

VSD II

Intel Officer

Howlrunner

4x Tie Fighter

My meta likes fighters, almost no list goes without them and there's a lot of AF MIIs and ISDs. The Idea with this list, then, is to use the carrier flag to wipe out all but the most dedicated fighter swarm (5 dice + reroll ties can quickly gain air superiority) using the VSDs to pound stuff and tank hits with their now 10 hull. Not sure if Heavy turbos or X17s are better on Dominator(on most anything else I'd say X17). I'd really like Relentless on the ISD but I don't think dropping the plain VSD II down to a VSD I for it + init is that worth it, I dunno what do you guys think?

Screed Glads: 398

Imp I

Screed

Intel Officer

Flight controllers

Expanded Hanger Bays

Boosted Comms

Relentless

GSD I

Intel Officer

Engine Techs

AC Missiles

Demolisher

GSD I

AC Missiles

Insidious

TIE Advanced

Soontir

Jumpmaster

2x TIE Fighters

Rhymer

Bomber

More of a balanced fighter ball and, now threatening to ships. No initiative bid for Demolisher is a little worrying, I guess I could drop the intel officer on Screed? I like it too much on demolisher as a pseudo accuracy/defense token killer with how much damage it does.

I prefer list two.

Taking APTs instead of ACMs can give you a reasonable initiative bid.

Oddly enough, most times I play, 398 would not give you initiative (in a majority of cases).

But I still like #1 because of the blue dice you'll roll. You could dump the HTL for some points to either use as initiative, or just keep it and build to run as player 2. As always, your meta may vary.

Unfortunately, I've only got the one as I can only justify buying more than one shrimp as an imperial player. I can see about trying to borrow some though, I don't feel like spending 20$+ on the singles market for it.

How are you all running your rhymerballs/command ships? I keep fiddling with mine and never really being happy with them.
