Double Firesprays

By Rasputindarksyde, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I have a Tournament this Saturday and I am thinking of running a Double Firespray list. Its not a Store Championship or anything and competitiveness is mid to high level. I flew the today 3 times and had good results. But it was against a mediocre pilot.

So onto the List.

Kath Scarlet: PTL, Enigine, K4-droid, Hot Shot Blaster

Emon: Slave 1, Intelligence Agent, Extra Munitions, Conner Net, Hot Shot Blaster, Anti Pusuit

Lasers

99 points.

Was debating of switching the Conner Net into Proton Bombs to free up Actions on Emon. It would help him do more damage hopefully during Combat Phase. Thanks in advance.

I suggest Boba with Veteran instincts and Engine upgrade instead of Emon (and all his gimmicks). Helps against all the aces flying around everywhere.

Inertial dampeners will probably help you more than Hot shot blasters. And they are cheaper.

Conner net is excellent on Emon and is an ace-killer card in and of itself. However, Emon needs action-independent boost to his regular firepower. Either take gunner or K4 droid on him so his shots are not useless when he drops the conner. Don't worry about intel agent for bomb drops-----you won't need it with his very flexible bomb dropping ability.

Yeah I was debating that. That does help him have some action economy.

If you have it, putting Experimental Interface on Emon is great so you can get some action economy going.

Emon+K4+Bombs+Experimental Interface is a Target Lock, Focus/Evade, and a Bomb Drop all in one turn. Really helps Emon's defense to be able evade and drop a bomb.

Anti-Pursuit Lasers aren't going to do much good because people aren't going to be dumping you at PS6, and won't be following behind you b/c of bombs.

Interesting. Will have to look into that.

Why won't the anti pursuit work. If I go against aces I will be moving first and they will bump me. Swarms are not flown to often were I play.

A good ace pilot is almost never going to bump you unless you're running a swarm.

Well maybe. It is a large base. R2-D2 makes moves predictable. Stress makes moves predictable. At least that is my thinking on the matter.

But I do like your build for Emon. The only thing is I can't fit him and my build for Kath. It's becomes two points over. I really like the Hot Shot Blasters. They got work done. Especially with having K4's on both. Makes it very useful. Granted I wish they weren't 3 points each.

Feedback array is an alternative to hotshot blaster (if you need to save on points).

I'd go with something like this...

Boba Fett (48)

- Veteran Instincts

- Tactician

- Glitterstim

- Engine Upgrade

Kath Scarlet (52)

- Expert Handling

- Heavy Laser Cannon

- K4 Security Droid

- Glitterstim

I've been running this exact Boba for some time now, and he is great. You can fly him very aggressively in the opening and pop the Glitterstim when you get into range 1. As for the Kath, the Expert Handling helps you setup your front or rear arc, and the K4 gives you a target lock when you clear the stress from the Expert Handling.

I prefer Amon to Boba. And you completely changed what I am doing with this list.

As for Kath. With the way I have her built I am getting a Target lock, Focus and an Evade every turn. The engine is there to boost to open up my Rear arc if I need it or help get away if I find myself surrounded. I feel that is far better then the list you provided. Plus if I need to use Glitterstem I will get stress from Rxpert handling and one from Glitterstem. No thank you. And now you giving me a 7 point weapon that is only effective in the front arc. I want to be shooting out of the rear with her. Confused as to why you suggested that.

Feedback Array could be an option for sure. It is only range 1 though. But I Will have to look into that.

Got a couple games in tonight. One was against a Tie swarm with Younster with expose, howlrunner with a lot of Swarm tactics around. Basically it made everyone shoot at PS8. Was tough but they ended up losing. The next was a weird double E-wing list. It was funky with Marksmenship and Prot Rockits on Corran and Etan. Did some damage but I got Corran in range 1 of Kath with Target and focus and Emon had target with the Uot shot baster and finished him off.

The Tournament is this Saturday. I don't have time to test anymore. But I think it will do pretty good. I feel comfortable flying it. Will post with my results from Tournament.

So the list did not fair to well. But that was do to very bad dice.

First round I had a Bye. Because of how the Bye is I had to play the top player. Palp mobile with Vader and Jax. A couple of bad moves and bumping and not rolling a single evade on my dice I lost within minutes. Shot both the hot shot Blasters but failed to do damage thanks to Palp.

Next game was against Vader, Fel and Epsilon. Got Kath killed pretty quick again by not rolling a single Evade. Came back though with Emon doing some damage to Vader and Fel. But could not kill epsilon two shots at range one with Target Locks. One hit 3 focus. Roll 3 focus and got 3 more focus. Ugh! I had Fel dead with a Net. Vader came swooping in to take the hit instead. When I wish Vader had VI it's then.

So the list failed because of Dice and me making a couple of huge mistakes. I feel I would like the Intelegence agent though more in some respects. But having the k4 is nice as well. Hot Shot Blasters are so fun with this list though. Most didn't expect it.

I'm a huge fan of Emon and his bombs. Though if you do take him it is worth taking and andraste as his skill only works with bombs. I know that means he can be a points sink but worth it for the devastation he can cause.

Proton bombs are really good too as they can take out smaller ships straight off if you get direct hit straight off the critical. Saved me from smaller ships in several games.

My go-to Emon, at least until Wave 8 where Guidance Chips adds an interesting variant, is this:

Emon Azzameen

-K4 Security Droid

-Andrasta

-Proton Bombs

-Proximity Mine

-Proximity Mine

For 50 points. If you have one point to spare, switching a Mine for a Conner is a good idea.

Of course, it can't be fitted with your Hot Shot Kath as she is 51, but a Mine could be downgraded to a Ion Bomb or so.

I used the slave one for extra ammo. I get two bombs for almost the price of one. I don't see a point it over sinking him with bombs that he may not even be able to drop. It's going to be turn 3 at the earliest to drop a bomb or mine anyways.

But YMMV.
