Another spoiler there is archaic weapons, and a nice little assortment of relics

Well, that's my new favorite art:

You get used to alien creatures and such that simple equine really throw you off when in a Star Wars image.

Are there any new Lightsaber crystals in this book?

Are there any new Lightsaber crystals in this book?

Yes and no - there are a couple specific weilders' crystals, but nothing as general like we saw in keeping the peace. Also, no new mods for lightsabers

So what new weapons and gear got introduced? Also any new ships?

Any new antagonists?

All antagonists are world inhabitants or part of a modular encounter. The vehicles are modular encounter specific, and there aren't many

New gear includes longbow, gunman weaponry and shield, boomerang, great sword, warspear, electrolance, a few drugs/ poisons, a handful of random tools, a couple droids, and 10 relics that are pretty cool. Overall nice set of gear albeit mostly specific to species and worlds.

What are the new species like especially the gungans and bardottans??

All the species are mechanically balanced, and offer something to player options. The gungans get a typical spread acrossed thresholds and xp with presence getting a boost and intellect getting a penalty. They also get the amphibious ability.

Bardottans are willpower focused and cunning penalized. They get a rank in lore with 105 xp. Thresholds average

Is there more in-depth information on Weik?

Yes, it's one of the planets that gets the most attention

I'm stunned that the Gungans have a three in presence!

Me too, I figured agility

Do the Gungans start with a free rank in any particular skill?

Yes, athletics

Do the Gungans have subspecies and do they have the primitive ability? Also what do the Aleena and Devaronians get? Also what are the relic items?

Forewarning, I don't want to post all the info, so people won't need the book, just enough to give people an idea of what expect.

Aleena: agility 3, brawn 1, skill rank, sturdy frame ability

Bardottan: willpower 3, cunning 1, skill rank, 105xp

Devaronian: cunning 3, presence 1, skill rank in one of two skills, resilient metabolism ability.

Gungan: presence 3, intellect 1, skill rank, and amphibious. No subspecies, no primitive.

There are ten relics, almost one for every planet. A ring, lightsaber, gauntlets, helm, grimoire, dram, crown, goggles, sphere, and a tear.

Do the Gungans have subspecies and do they have the primitive ability? Also what do the Aleena and Devaronians get? Also what are the relic items?

Why would the Gungans get Primitive? From the evidence in the movie, they are pretty technologically advanced, with underwater force field bubbles, giant energy shields, what seems to be Ion based bombs and grenades and personal energy based shields.

The twelve planets are: Ilum, Naboo, Dagobah, Weik, Lothal, Bardotta, Auratera, Aleen, Devaron, Iktoch, Empress Teta, and Ossus. THose looking for an Old republic sourcebook this will probably be the closest we see for some time. It touches on the "Qel Droma Sagas" but does so from a perspective of a modern viewer looking back 4,000 years. Each planet is well repesented, although Naboo kinda feels out of place for a book about force-centric locations. Dantooine or Korriban would have made more sense.

Naboo probably got included for two reasons.

One, it's a central planet in one of the Star Wars films, and shows up in two other films (even if briefly), so while not as important to the story as Tatooine was, Naboo still has importance.

Second, it's the homeworld of Senator Palpatine aka Darth Sidious, which again gives it a degree of importance in the larger setting, and offers a chance to look at a world that has a history of sorts with the Force and the Jedi (after all, it was the actions of two Jedi that very much helped liberate Naboo from the Trade Federation) as well as being a planet that supports Palpatine (I'm guessing) but isn't one of the Core Worlds.

Whoops

I will paraphrase a quote SWTPM for you so you see my point "Are armies are poised to begin searching the swamps for the primitives...". Also primitive in Star Wars refers to not having space travel or blaster technology, are the Gungans more advanced than Ewoks yes, are they more advanced than Wookiees or Humans no.

Wasn't that the bad guys calling them primatives though? From the visuals in Ep. III, the Gungans and the Wookiees appear equal.

The Dressellians seem unique because they went through a sudden jump in technology levels, and struggle with modern tech. On the other hand, Gungans have their own advanced tech. They just aren't space grade, which a lot of species aren't.

Yeah, the Gungans being called "primitive" was a dismissive insult by the Trade Federation, who held a highly inflated opinion of their own status.
