Imperial Fleet (2 ISD's)

I'll be attending a Star Wars: Armada tournament next week and I could use some input on my fleet. I wanted to use two imperial star destroyers. Here's my idea.

I playtested it against a friend of mine who's only played once before and has no ships of his own (He used my rebels). I won as I expected but i'm going to remove Relentless and rename the ship Tyrant. Just because I think I would benefit from the slightly improved initiative bid. And while I love the relentless title, I was able to predict pretty well what commands i'd need on my star destroyers. I'd really like a chance at being first player.

I would drop Expanded launcher for another TIE-Int or drop it for APT and add a TIE-Ftr.

What if I take away the expanded launchers, add APT. Then exchange my 3 tie interceptors for 3 tie fighters + howlrunner. Then i'm at 393/400 points.

Also good. Howlrunner will add a little punch to the Ties and a little survivability with her defence tokens.

I like your list (may have to invest in an extra ISD!) a potential alternative I was looking at would possibly be as follows, I personnaly feel that the Intel Offr may have greater utility than the PQ7s but it is all down to personal preferenace and play style.

Intel officers are really great but I wanted to try something different for a change. And the tractor beams do seem to disrupt people's plans a lot. Suddenly your ship is not where you thought it would be.

I agree to drop expanded launchers for APT's. Adding Howlrunner would help with the 3 ties giving you 2 additional deployments. One thing you want to think about is how many deployments you have. with 4 ties and 3 ships you get 5. Use your raider to prevent you from getting flanked and also for fighter support. Those 2 black dice add a world of hurt.

Once option would be to go with just 4 vanilla Ties for 32 points. Add Instigator title and ordinance experts, change to APT's from expanded launchers. With your ties your main goal is not really to win the fighter war just delay or hurt the enemy long enough for your two ISDII's to do their damage. Instigator will help you do that against massed bombers.

I considered that as well, but I prefer my ties and howlrunner over instigator just as a personal preference. It just seems so much more cinematic to have 4 squadrons of ties zooming towards the enemy squadrons. I also feel it plays more easily. Getting that instigator where you want it is more tricky.
