Armada Team Tournament - Vassal

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Armada

My team is set:

Team Name: TBA

Madagmire

Fleet: TBA

Shmitty

Fleet: TBA

JJs Juggernaut

Fleet: TBA

That is a strong team of fleet admirals! The team to beat so far! :)

My Team name was posted BTW, we are "The Vanguard " (since we were first to post and probably first to die looking at how stacked the other teams are right now.)

He broke the unwritten rule of "no semifinalists together" and then added the World's runner up. Well played JJ, well played...

In JJ's defense, he did try grabbing me, a mere quarter-finalist... :)

I can reliably play weekends (including odd times) and GMT +0 evenings.

Rebel scum looking for a team. Many may have a pretty **** good idea what my list will be.

Edit: No not that one that faced you CNinja, I cant fly it well enough yet. Its a dream to practice.

I'm down for playing, but need a team.

Biggs - Are you planning on organising match ups by timezone, or is there benefit in having a mix of timezones in a single team to manage matchups easier. (provided they tactically work of course)

Nationals runner up. But hey, I was never informed of any unwritten rules...:P

And the Biggs train keeps rollin' on! :D

Count me in for this - workin' on assembling my crack team of players in an epic and inspiring montage. :P

What is the cut off date for posting our fleet?

Tuesday march 1st

I've been looking forward to a team tournament. Count me in.

Seconding this.

I need someone to "sit in the booth" with me, so to speak. Chair is always open, and doesn't always need to be filled to have a good game.

I'll look into it in my end. I'm not very positive with it at the moment, because my desk is in the middle of the house, and its not exactly a "good radio sound" environment thusly... But I will look into at least a microphone. That's all I can promise at the moment...

Having personally met and conversed with dras IRL I think he would be an excellent choice for commentating

There are no plans to match teams against other teams by time zone. First matchups will be random, and later matchups will be based on Tournament Points.

Well, I don't exactly have a good microphone myself. Have you ever heard my livestream commentary?

My mic was awful during the clon/jj game. Haven't gone back to listen to the finals portions I was involved in to see if push to talk fixed the issue with it cutting in and out.

My time zone is GMT (+0) for the tournament record :)

I am interested but have no team. Thanks Biggs, this looks like fun! :)

If you are Rebel and have a preference for Riekan then send me a pm please.

I'm not sure I understand the format...after the first round, it is the TEAM SCORE that determines what teams play each other, no?

Note to self: less A-wings.

Ok, quick question about the team match-up part:

Rules:

Upon being matched up against another team, the Team Captain of the team with the lowest total Initiative Bid (total point cost of all lists) will choose the first list to offer to the other team. That other Team Captain will then select one of his team's lists to play that list. Then the first Team Captain will be able to assign his teams remaining lists to the other team's remaining lists, resulting in pairings for all players. It will then be incumbent upon each player to contact their opponent and schedule a time to play, posting that time in this thread.

So, the team with the most total combined fleet points (so, 1200 is the most) has the First Team Captain, right?

Team A has a total of 1200

Team B has a total of 900 (crazy people!)

Team A's Captain is the First Team Captain, in this situation, right? Thus Captain A will choose one of Team A's lists; then Captain B will choose one of their three lists to pair up against that one; then Captain B will decide both of the the remaining match ups.

Is that correct? Just want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly.

No captain B offers one of his three lists to captain A. Captain A chooses who faces this list.

Subsequently Captain A decides the other two match ups.

In effect a low bid allows you to match up your specialised lists easier.

I suspect we will see some crazy team bids.

I guess I'm confused by "the lowest total Initiative Bid" and "(total points cost of all lists)" as they are somewhat contradictory! :P

And lowest total Initiative Bid suggests that the higher your total cost, the better (for being Captain A, anyway.)

Which is why I posted the question :D
