Remember the literal dream job test I was talking about?

That escort fighter that's always the first to die?

Nice. :D

final match of jar jar vs hammers of kuat between myself and doobleg is starting now!

And wesa done! Doobieleg is winnings, 131-45 for a 7-3 split. GO FULL JAR JAR!!!

Lookie lookie here for fun times and aaarrrgh, so much pain!

*ahem*

Thanks again to Clontroper5 for the awesome game. As happens in Armada, one errant decision may well have cost Clonny the match, but he had his share of harsh luck too. Squadron battles were brutal, and when it comes to ISDs, two versus one went down pretty much how you'd expect. ;)

A great first round for Full Jar Jar, facing off against possibly the toughest opponents this competition has to offer. Cheers, Hammers of Kuat, and woe betide whoever draws you in round 2. :D

Zanos and I will play at 2300 (-5) 11 Mar / 1500 (+11) on 12 Mar.

guys is it too late to join in on this? (teamless)

Teams might be looking for a sub at some point, though it means playing someone else's list. Don't worry if that doesn't float your boat, I'm sure Biggs has another event in his pocket after this one!

That is correct, just hang around and if people need you to be a substitute, they will let you know!

Sorry for no responding, I must have missed you in the mess of a thread.

Technically after the cutoff, but what the hell - we'll just push back the cutoff to Saturday 12th at 12:00pm EST

Maturin vs Conscientious Objector - Saturday 5th @ 2000 PST/ 2200 CST.

Did this get played? I may have missed it.

Conscientious Objector and I have tentatively scheduled our game for Saturday night, 8pm PST/ 10pm CST.

game rescheduled to Sunday afternoon/evening at my request.

Nevermind, I figured it out.

MoffZen vs Truthiness

Any word on this game being played?

So far MoffZen didn't read any messages after March 2. My plan is to wait until the end of Monday and then start looking for alternates.

Thanks to CO for a very tense and exciting match! Report follows. Unfortunately I forgot to save a vlog - CO do you have one?

I did manage a few screenshots before and after the match:

TT1%20Game%20Start.png

I set up my CR90B first, off to the left to see if I could pull CO's deployment away from his planned token-grabbing setup. No luck though, as CO stuck to his likely plan and had each of his ships positioned to grab a token on turn 1. Only Jaina's Light was in position to grab one for me, but I did get to place my MC30's last in a good position to Ackbar Slash.

In the first few turns CO used his flagship to go after mine, but by staying obstructed behind the asteroid field and using my first player advantage I managed to squeak Jaina's Light safely past the ISD, with only 2 damage. Both ships essentially played little further role in the battle.

In the center I sped one of the MC30's down the middle, and while set up for a classic Ackbar Slash between the Raider and ISD, I chose to double-arc the Raider and take it out of the game, giving me a pretty big activation advantage. CO set his fighter mob on the slashing MC30, following it down behind the ISD Expendable and pecking away at its shields. Expendable itself weathered a bit of fire from my Neb, CR90B, and other MC30, but still had 2/3 of its hull points by the time the ships had each performed their firing passes.

Expendable headed at speed 3 away from my ships in an attempt to escape the death by a thousand cuts, but an unlucky crit reduced its maneuverability and it only just barely managed to stay on the board in the top right corner thanks to a couple of well timed commands. On turns 5 and 6 it headed back into the fray on the board's right side, only to be ambushed by the two MC30's and CR90B, which cut the corner and took the ISD down on turn 6. (I forgot to declare which arc I was shooting at with my MC30's front arc, but CO was a true gentleman and allowed me to allocate the shots logically for best effect. Cheers sir!

CO's fighter cover, having chased the MC30's relatively ineffectually for most of the game, came scrambling back to cover the Expendable but arrived only to see the great ship go down. They took out my two YT-2400's in revenge, but were unable to disable any Rebel ships before they jumped away into hyperspace.

Here was the final board:

TT1%20End.png

In the end CO had claimed 4 victory tokens and I only had one, but aside from the YT-2400's all the Rebel ships were operational while one ISD and one Raider were non-operational. Thanks to Conscientious Objector for a fun, nail-biting game. His tractor beams really played havoc with my maneuvering plans, and his red dice were horribly fickle, else the outcome could have been very different!

Our game with Thanosazlin will continue tomorrow due to the time constraints on his part. We also decided to use this opportunity to get a ruling on an allowable shot (sorry, Biggs!). I attached links to the save and to the screen capture of the relevant portion of the measurement below (Side arc shot from MKII to the side of the raider).

Looks from the picture and my own measuring from the save file like the LOS from the AFII side arc overlaps the front arc to get to the side. No shot.

JJs's Juggernaut vs Jarenis moved back to Thursday 7:00 PM CST (GMT-6) or noon his time (GMT+11) due to work constraints for Jarenis.

I was wondering, how many pairings will there be? I mean, does every team need to play against every other team or is it just a fixed number of rounds?

I don't think this is clear in the OP, as it lists all the rules to clash two teams, but no rules about when and how is the tournament ending. Biggs, do you mind clarifying this?

we're going to do a brief, 3 round, TEAM TOURNAMENT!

:D

So I think it's a standard 3 Round Event, but with teams instead of single players.
