Was able to surprise him with deployment and flank hard, we played my most wanted. Game ended in a table turn 4.

Now lets be clear here, I didnt want this matchup. Biggs is right I would LOVE to play some low activation teams. (Bear that in mind please in future opponents)

Fleets is Dorrins Ackbar Frigate with Home One and 3 TRC covettes versus my Defiance with 4 corvettes.

I took first activation, and chose Most Wanted from his list, not ideal but no way am I play Fire Lanes against that list. Set up obstacles to deny a flank, or so I thought. Dorrin then proceeded to load up on this flank, so clearly I had not achieved my desired result. It did cause him problems and force his TRC Corvettes out of the fight due to going to fast.

Jaina did her job and rushed into his fleet to force it to rearrange, which would have resulted in mass ramming had the game gone on long enough.

Then defiance turned her arc on his fleet, which sent the creepers through Dorrin, whilst the corvettes came speeding round from the other side of the board where they were expecting the fight to be. All was going well at this point, but Dorrin was being overly protective of his Ackbar Frigate.

Then the Ackbar sides fired and started one shoting corvettes before they could get in range, leaving the Defiance pretty much alone whilst sitting on an asteroid ramming home one who was sat on the satellite..... talk about getting all the luck!

Sadly my fleet was tabled. 10-0 to Dorrin.

Possibly I should have just run and hid in a corner to deny the points in hindsight. SW7 corvettes are no match for Ackbar. Would have been a different story if the corvettes had survived that round, so they could get of their 6 damage the next round. Alas not to be.

Zanos has been offered to the Church of Rocco as ​a sacrifice to appease the dice gods​ our tribute. After I hear back, the rest of the matchups will be set.
