About these boats....

By DirbYh, in X-Wing

I'm beginning to think that instead of putting them on a boat, if FFG put them on a train north to Vladivostok, then west across Siberia and Europe all the way to Holland, put them on a boat there and shipped them, it wouldn't take nearly as long.

These boats.

These boats need more GUNS.

And MISSILES.

You might underestimate how large the former Soviet Union truly is.

The world is a large, large place.

Also, Holland is a province (two in fact), the country is the Netherlands.

Look, the captain is just having too much fun with his ship's maneuver dial, its just a shame its the first ship with a white 0 stop.

I'm an American of Dutch heritage and, surprisingly, I didn't learn this until graduating from High School. I was taught in my Geography class in middle school that "the Netherlands" and "Holland" were interchangeable terms...

Propellers powered by hamster wheels.

Unless they're just really bad at updating, I wonder if this will be first week in a long while that nothing new was added to the "Now Shipping" list under any product lines.

This is a perfect example of why US students pretty much suck rocks at geography. Most couldn't even fill out a US map with all of the states names, let alone know where countries exist on other continents.

Lol at this thread. Why not send them by rocket into space and then re-enter the atmo in the US?

And that is why you take up a life of a Soldier... or Wargamer*. War is Gods way of teaching mortals geography!

I have been a wargamer most of my life (and a Soldier as well... for probably too many yrs) as are my sons, and I can telly you that hobby, above all others, has taught me geography and world history.

* No, XWM does not count. Well, not the way most play it. And why Star Wars "stellar cartography" is fun, it is hardly practical. Let's not even THINK of putting WHFB/WH40K in the category of "wargames". Wargames at least attempt to simulate something, WH, on the other hand,reproduces/simulates...? Not Dis-ing the fun factor of gw games, but hardly something to take serious (unless you are studying economics) ;)

Don't feel too bad about the boats. It could be worse. You could be waiting for news on something new for Forbidden Stars.

They put the shipment onto an unmanned rowboat, placed it into a current that leads to North America, and gave it a swift kick. The status will change once somebody happens onto the beached remains of said rowboat and scoops up whatever is left of the cargo.

My friend and I had this conversation Wednesday night. Both of us retired, him from teaching. He said that geography is supposed to be taught as an adjunct in other classes. But with the bs "common core" curriculum and the need to pass the tests it has fallen to the side.

My favorite example was during his student teaching days. One of the questions on a test was, "What was the immediate cause of the Spanish-American War". Evidently this was a hard question and several students begged for a hint. So he pulled down a map and pointed to the State of Maine. Sure enough he got several responses back citing the immediate cause of the Spanish-American war was to save the state of Maine!

Sometimes I think we are doomed!

40k simulates "the nightmare future of the 41st millennium", duh...

Time to brush up on your future history, yo...

FFG - biggest trolls eva!

They is just holdin' the shipment and having a laugh

I heard a rumor that the ship can only make left turns... Dengar's at the helm or something like that. Apparently no one told him that he's suppose to set up on the right side of the map in order to make use of his white S-loop....

Yeah, it's a leftover from when Holland was the most dominant of the seven during the Golden Age of the Republic (and one of the reasons it was split into two).

Heard that its the current world financial situation to blame. Lots of ships are being delayed or held in port until it is financially worth their moving. This is causing delays and back logs with worldwide shipping.

It seems from comments made and C3PO cards up for sale that the UK has recieved tournament kits. Australia hasn't yet. Store championship on tomorrow and they don't have their kit yet. They will be taking addresses and posting out prizes when they get them.

Did Somali pirates hijack it and are holding the plastic crack for ransom?? after they take all the scum stuff of course!!!

Winter kit has only just arrived in AU (picked up Imp Gunner & Extra Munitions tokens today), which is something at least.

Saw an alt art gunner 2 months ago.

Stores are waiting on the SC kits and delayed tournament dates by a month or more in the hopes they would be here by now.

Nope.

RUSSIAN POST service is the worst-case scenario.

imagine a boat tugged by reindeer across the Siberia along the railtracks.

that's the speed and quality of it >_>

Storm in Fiji. I'm sure the boats safe. the boat hasn't made it Taiwan yet.
