Triple T-70 list for Store Championship

By BlodVargarna, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm flying this list tomorrow.

What should I be concerned about?

Poe **** 'er Un (100)

Poe Dameron (36) - T-70 X-Wing

Push The Limit (3), BB-8 (2), Integrated Astromech (0)

"Red Ace" (35) - T-70 X-Wing

R5-P9 (3), Comm Relay (3), Integrated Astromech (0)

Red Squadron Veteran (29) - T-70 X-Wing

Wired (1), R3-A2 (2)

Do you have R2D2? I think you'd have more success if you moved R2D2 to Red Ace and R5-P9 to Poe. To offset the 2 extra point you set, Poe can drop PtL and add VI. Currently your list is a little soft to any ace over PS8, which is tough on ships that require arcs.

I do have both of those Astromechs. I really like the BB-8 ptl shenanigans. I'll think about the double regen list though. Thanks!

If you want a stress ship, I would personally drop the Red squadron Veteran for a Gray Squadron Y Wing w/ TLT, R3-A2, and Btl-4. You would even come in at 99 points, so you could go for the initiative bid.

tried the wired + r3-a2 T-70; what a disappointment it was

not only does wired not really do all that much (1 point, after all), but it doesn't even kick in before anything PS 5+ shoots at him

also, if you like bb-8 shenanigans (they are the most fun you'll ever have on a t-70), I'd recommend Asty. Being able to troll and then bb-8 the turn after makes him much more flexible than poe and will prove a headache for opponents trying to guess both the mini-phantom rolls and the white t-rolls with optional boost attached

Poe's more of a blunt object, to be wielded with a regeneration astro and auto-thrusters

I like the BB-8 PTL shenanigans a lot. That being said, an ace list would wreck this list.

Maybe it's my piloting, but I get absolutely destroyed when I don't have VI on Poe.

Here's another build. What do you guys think about Comm Relay? At 3 points maybe better spent on PTL for Red Veteran?

Poe **** 'er Un (100)

Poe Dameron (35) - T-70 X-Wing

Veteran Instincts (1), R5-P9 (3), Integrated Astromech (0)

"Red Ace" (36) - T-70 X-Wing

R2-D2 (4), Comm Relay (3), Integrated Astromech (0)

Red Squadron Veteran (29) - T-70 X-Wing

Veteran Instincts (1), BB-8 (2)

Need that AT for arc dodging.

Drop Comm relay for AT?

Ok what about this list?

Poe **** 'er Un 3.0 (100)

Poe Dameron (37) - T-70 X-Wing

Veteran Instincts (1), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2)

"Red Ace" (33) - T-70 X-Wing

R2-D2 (4), Integrated Astromech (0)

Red Squadron Veteran (30) - T-70 X-Wing

Stay On Target (2), Targeting Astromech (2), Integrated Astromech (0)

I think this would be the way to go if you're dead set on playing 3 T-70

Just wondering if Comm Relay is a must have for regen Red Ace build?

If I do that, I could downgrade red vet to blue novice and take R2 or Stressbot for a StressX.

I like the synergy of stay on target and targeting droid though.

To get the full use out of Red Ace's ability and regeneration, Comm Relay is a must, but when scrapping for points, it's still a tough ship to take down without it.

Thanks guys! I'll let you know how the list does.

I'm going to skip comm relay.

I'm interested to see how targeting Astromech does with stay on target.

Hey guys,

I'm worrying that stay on target on a PS4 ship will be sub-optimal. What do you guys think about that?

As an alternative I was thinking predator and R2 Astromech for same points.

Yep, that will be good. Predator is great on T-70's (compared to T-65's) because they have boost. Getting that reroll after a boost is huge.

predator r2 vets are solid little ships with a surprisingly sexy dial

they devour TLTs, but beware aces

Hey guys,

I went 0-2 losing to a palp mobile and tie swarm including Wampa. That Wampa is a bastard handing out damage cards whether you like it or not. Unfortunately for me I didn't fly very well in my first round and forgot some critical components of my list (like predator card damnit!)

Second list was Rebel TLTs and Poe. I ignored the TLTs to my peril. Poe and Red Ace got burned to the ground with consecutive rounds of 4 damage.

I learned a lot in my first tournament for sure. It was a fun positive experience.

Highlight: me and my friend who was also a beginner walk in and look at the assembled players. My friend asked me "who do you think is the guy to beat here?"

A beat passes

Paul Heaver walks in. I say to my friend " I think that's the guy."

Amazingly my friend gets paired up with Paul Heaver in the third round. I got a bye so I hung out and watched their game.

Surreal afternoon.

Oh and I got a sweet C-3P0 card.

I'm looking forward to my next Store Championship in March!
