Another RtL Quastion

By MaHaPaTe, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello everybody...

As the OL can 'buy' for one trap treachery another Trapmaster card to his OL-Card-Deck, that would mean there are 2 in the deck :) Does this mean if he purchases both that all trap cards played cost 2 threats less AND the damage is increased by 4?

As I often play the OL and really like the trapmaster card, i love the imagination of that right now :)

And just to make things sure ( I had several discussions with my little, sweet party)...The OL can play a trap card whenever a hero moves into an empty space... so the hero does not have to finish his move to be 'hit' by a trap!

The OL is restricted to having only 1 copy of a power card out at a time (can't have two Doom's out etc...). This also applies to power cards that LTs bring out when reinforcing dungeons. The benefit of having 2 trapmaster cards in the deck is that it may be drawn faster.

The OL can interrupt the hero's movement at any point to play the trap and does not need to wait until they have "finished" their move :-)

Righty Right!

Hi Oboewan,

from where did you get the rule that you cannot have two identical power cards in play? The only thing I found is that you cannot play two power cards on a single turn, but not that you cannot have two identical.

P.S.: This is my third try to post. The first two times, the forum simply threw my post away after clicking "publish"...have I mentioned this forum software sucks big time? sad.gif

The forum software sucks def. It never threw away my posts but it's slow as hell!!!

But never mind... would be great to know if you can have two power cards of the same type. But if you could and the trapmaster effects would be added then all traps would cause serious damage, makin it possible to kill an unhurt hero with only one trap! As OL I have to say... GREAT :) but really fair?

This thread in the old forum states the you can have multiple. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffgforums/posts/list/4345.page#85054

I would agree. I have never seen anything about not having two of the same power card. I think this is offset by the cost of the cards (in threat) and the limit to total number power cards in play in RtL.

<minirant>Why, oh why are we loosing the old forum data? So many questions are answered there.</minirant>

THX for that. I love the imagination of having the trapmaster card two times in play!

can we say a nearly threat-free 'falling block' that does ~10 armor-ignoring damage? I think we can.

and its so beautiful too... <cries>

Obeowan, can you recall how you came to the conclusion that you can only have one of each type of Power cards in play at once? It seems to be running counter to the general consensus.

thanks,

pfd

I agree (*sob*). With this extra damage, would the heroes get to roll extra power dice for the block?

TK

They don't throw extra dice for the additional wounds from the trapmaster card as it reads... ' 'and the hero suffers two more wounds (if he suffers any)''. No mention of throwing dice.

I'm not sure what about the extra wounds from the Spider Queen but I would say it's the same with them.
