400 Point Rebel Build for Local Club Championship

By Rendorin, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi all,

Having taken a trip over to the light side for a forthcoming tournament at our local club and was thinking of taking the following list. Comment and critique would be most welcome:

Rendorin's Revenge
Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 395/400

Commander: Mon Mothma

Assault Objective: Advanced Gunnery
Defense Objective: Fire Lanes
Navigation Objective: Dangerous Territory

[ flagship ] Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points)
- Mon Mothma ( 30 points)
- Yavaris ( 5 points)

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 points)
- Salvation ( 7 points)

MC30c Scout Frigate (69 points)
- Foresight ( 8 points)
- Lando Callriassian ( 4 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Concussion Missiles ( 7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

Squadrons (51 points)

1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)
1 X-Wing Squadron ( 13 points)
1 Wedge Antilles ( 19 points)

I was thinking of dropping Wedge for a normal X-Wing and giving one of the CR90s Jaina's Light, this would also give me a better initiative bid (9 points versus 5). However, I feel given limited fighter screen the extra attacks frin Wedge may come in handy.

Over to you guys!

If your MC30 is going in close to use ACMs then Admonition could be a more survivable title to take. You could also drop it to a torpedo variant.

Yavaris should consider adding Raymus Antilles to get an effective squadron rating of 3 and of course 3 double taps once the dogfight goes into its second turn.

Wedge, Dutch and Jan could be fun with Yavaris+Dutch turning off 2 squadrons then Wedge plastering them. Or just take 2 basic X-wings and use Jan's defensive tokens for them.

Thank you for input, based on those comments I have dropped the MC30 to a Torpedo variant and downgraded ACMs to APTs. Have gone for base Squadron build and upgunned the Nebs, which still leaves me with a decent initiative bid. The revised fleet would therefore look like the following:

Points: 394/400

[ flagship ] Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points)
- Mon Mothma ( 30 points)
- Yavaris ( 5 points)
- Raymus Antilles ( 7 points)

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 points)
- Salvation ( 7 points)
- Slaved Turrets ( 6 points)

MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)
- Admonition ( 8 points)
- Lando Callriassian ( 4 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)
2 X-Wing Squadrons ( 26 points)

You are taking Yavaris with Raymus so you can get that double attack with the squadrons, then only taking 3 Squadrons? I would take at least five Squadrons so that you can still get full use out of Yavaris even after losing a squadron or two.

I'd also move Mon Mothma to another ship to spread the points around (Yavaris will be a priority target).

Hi,

Firstly, I agree with sentiment on Squadrons but cannot see what I could potentially give up in order to get greater flexibility with regard to Squadron choices. I personally feel that there will be greater utility from having 5 ships than losing one to enhance my squadrons.

Secondly, with regard to Mon Mothma I feel that she will be a target irrespective of what I ship I put her on. All the other ships have a more offensive role that the ship she is currently assigned to which I envisage being a more of a supporting role given load out. Hopefully will get to play test and see what happens, which may change my view.

I don't know if i'm in favor of it, but you could downgrade the Salvation to another 'vette. Say you take a CR90b, move Raymus there, give it the Tantive, you get to hand out 2 tokens per turn and free up 22 pts for addl fighters. That's 2 y-wings or Nym.

Given the minimal Squadron build and the fact that they are principally there to act as a meat shield (hopefully for a couple of turns at least!) I have been deliberating the following swap. This would see removal of the 2 x X-Wings and replacing them with 2 x YT-1300s which would reduce firepower (but gain counter 1) and improve durability. So squadron build would then be as follows:

Squadrons (45 points)

1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)
2 YT-1300 ( 26 points)

Has anyone had any experience and could potentially add comment?

I like the odd YT-1300 as a close escort to B-wings. You wait until enemies jump the B-wings and the YT-1300s take the heat off them with ESCORT and COUNTER 1.

X-Wings have a better punch and the speed allows them to actively intercept bombers rather than just waiting to be tackled.

Or just take 4 x A-Wings!
