New ship coming soon

By X Wing Nut, in Star Wars: Armada

I just watched the latest of Rebels and this is what I saw . FFG has already added ships from Rebels into X wing will this ship make it into wave 4 or 5?

from what I saw it had good anit squadron fire but I don't think it attacked a ship?

Maybe this could be a ship that is designed only for the squadron fight more/better then the Raider

Small base ship 6 squadron activation how cool would that be

its not as good as this but it existences in the EU can not be denied

anyone else hope we get it?

an old Star Wars Rebellion (Supremacy) staple. Surely a lot of squads (think it was 6 in that game) but one blue die anti-ship at best, if I remember correctly :)

Not too excited about it unless it really gives 5+ squads and is cheap.

It's also pretty small - 340 metres, barely longer than a Nebulon B. Would much rather the Escort Carrier. But I'm an old 'X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter' geek, so...

The carrier from your link was the Imperial carrier version in Rebellion.

Cheap ship with only 2 command dials and 4 base squad rating?

Yes please. :D

The design of that thing is just terrible. It's uglier than sin. I want the functionality it would bring, but would want FFG to design something better aesthetically.

Assault Frigate. Mk2 much? :)

To be honest it's not beautiful, but I could personally live with it. An other possible option would be the Ton Falk Escort Carrier from the EU, that's not looking much better either. It's literally a flying brick with a mouth. X)

Eh? The Assault Frigate Mk II is a thing of beauty, surely?

LEAVE THE ASSAULT FRIGATE ALONE! IT'S GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME!

I'd love to see both this and the Imperial Escort Carrier. I think there is a niche for a cheap, small sized, fragile carrier for both factions. As with the AFII, there are varying options on the looks, but I for one like it. Give me squadron 3, command 2, engineer 2, an offensive retrofit, almost no guns (max 2 on any arc), and make it CR90 cheap.

Well... let's say, personal preferences. X) I'm not really fond of its looks, I like the Mark 1 ( the Dreadnought conversion ) better.

Haha, easy there, pal. :D I like the ship itself, just not that fond of the fishy design. X)

I like the way it looks, simple and no bull. Aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder. Also. these ships are engraved in the collective memory of starwars fans older than 25 through old games like the x-wing series or sw:rebellion and various comics. You can't just design new ones, if you do that Armada would quickly loose the starwars vibe for many of us. The Raider is greatly dislike by many for that exact same reason, give us the old and trusted Lancer-class!

As far as non-film ships go, this one is pretty good. Strong shape, huge docking bay quickly communicates role, etc. My only issue I that its triangular and that's the aesthetic of the Empire. I'm a fan of the raider for adhering to the empire triangles. The round sausage lancer is too rebelly.

Like you said, Aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder :P I find the Raider more visually pleasing than the Lancer class, which for some reason reminds me of that annoying character from the Ice Age movies.

Too sleek, too clean. The reason I loved the old rebel ships is that they look ramshackle, modular and look like they've seen better days. It makes the ships as much of a character as the people themselves.

O my Rhymer-ball.....

from the way it preformed in the show

it needs 4 anti fighter dice,1 black for anti ship all facing, 6 squad rating, speed 3
4 hull 2 shields all all for about about 50 points used for both sides empire and rebel forces.

just my out look on it. :)

You don't even know my struggles....

Tarkin had the cobbled together mass of CIS ships used to Jam the holonet and act a pocket droid carrier...

That would be cool!

I'm looking for them to provide something above a 4 squad rating. And with less firepower than a corvette. Something we don't have yet in the game. Definitely high risk/high reward.

Down for this and even the boxy Imperial Escort Carrier.

To be frank, I think 4 anti squadron dice and 6 base squadron rating would make it horrendously overpowered, especially with Expanded Hangar Bays and Flight Controllers... And I think you have to have shields for each hull zone, so that's a minimum of 4.

I would make it something like this:

- 2 command, 3 engineering, 4 squadron

- 4 hull, 5 shield (2 fore, 1 each sides, 1 rear)

- 2 blue AF armament, Anti ship: 2 blue foreward, 1 blue at the sides, 1 blue at the rear

- All of this for around 55-60 points.

Is that the same show where a single B-wing prototype destroyed like an entire imperial cruiser by itself in 1 shot?

Give my Liberty-class or give me death!

And also give me imperial CR90s and Nebulons or give me death!
