EotE Dice Roller for Google Hangouts

By GM Hook, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Can the star wars dice either in roll20 or Google/roll20 utilize the 3d rolling or just the chart log rolling?

From 25th of April, there will be no more EotE dice in google hangout as I understand :( .

I'm pining for a suitable replacement - sure, there are other rollers, but none that fit this niche.

Yes, no more EotE dice in Hangouts. No more applications in Hangouts at all, for that matter. :(

What are other people looking at using? Roll20? I've heard there's some good EotE stuff in Roll20, although I think the use the Roll20 API, which means you need a Pro account.

I might be able to port the roller over to being a standalone web app, but it would take some work and would have to be hosted.

Not really sure what I'm going to do. I'm the only remote player in my group. I own FG and TTS and I did pay for Roll20 pro for a couple month, but those were overkill for my group. There's the forum dice roller, but I might just point my webcam at my desk and roll my physical dice like my caveman ancestors did.

Roll20's roller is very nice, and integrates with the EotE character sheet built into Roll20, but you do have to pay for it (10 per month, only the GM pays), so it might not be an appealing option for everyone.

There might be some IRC dicebots floating around? I know there's some website based rollers but they're more geared for forum RP stuff.

So I did give roll20's pay option a try, and I found it to be really clunky and inelegant. Fantasy Grounds seems to have better integration but it's a one-time $40 expenditure that many will not like. I would imagine I'm a more rare situation than most in that I'm the only remote player at a normal tabletop game.

I'm gonna try things out on TTS, see how that is.

I bought that too and am interested to see how it works for you.

How easy it is to create your own maps in this tool? I have graphics of my locations and NPCs ready, in roll20 it was just drag & drop and align.

TTS is now for 10€ on humblestore.

I have no clue and I don't intend to use maps. I'm not a great artist and i don't really care for having to draw maps all the time when the majority of my sessions are improvised.

To be honest I messed with the tutorial and didn't go much further. Seems like a pretty slick tool but it is of course a very broad platform.

Wasn't aware of TTS before people mentioned it here. This is the TableTop Simulator on Steam? Would all my players have to buy it also? It is intriguing.

Yes and Yes.

The module I'm using is called "Star Wars RPG with EXPANSIVE Cards".

It has the dice (including 2D10 for critical hits/injuries)

destiny points

critical injury/hit decks

item decks

vehicle decks

It works pretty well and I'm excited to play using it with one of my online groups.

Thought I drop this here with the Hangout app shutting down tomorrow. I've been helping build a replacement discord bot. It's free, runs on mobile, and come with the nice discord voice channels.

I like that we have a couple solutions to this quandry.

This is the one my group uses, it's been working great for us for a month now:
