Although I would love to fit an Engine on bossk, i am hoping the extra pirate will be worth it. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I flew something very similar to the latter but with Calculation, Inertial Dampeners, Gunner and Tactician. Less action economy, but Tactician and Gunner are all about the stress.

Four bugzappers is always better than three!

I agree that you need the full 4 feedbacks. Bossk in 2nd list should still hit hard. Too bad you don't have couple more pints for EPT.

Ive been playtesting Boosk with tactician and gunner and K4 for a few weeks now. Gunner went off so few times that I ditched for engine upgrade and I am glad I did. K4 is gold but with tactician and EU it is platinum. Do your green move. Use K4, use range ruler to see if you are in range 2, if not boost into range 2. VI and initiative help you move last. I've been flying Bossk wkthout EU for a long time but now I am true convert. It's a must for a ship with no K turn and a 180 degree firing arc.

I faced a similar squad to yours in a tourney this Sat. Was able to keep the Z's stressed so they just couldn't catch Bossk.

Just a bit more on K4 vs gunner. Having K4 and marksmanship means you are maximising your chances for a hit. I was the same, So gunner almost never triggered. Target lock and focus each time is so **** good. I was using mangler cannon so rolling a crit was never a problem. That's why I went K4 over gunner.

Using a secondary weapon to keep range 3 dice down and using EU to keep ATs Fromm triggering by getting into range 2.

I wonder if K4 + Marksmanship + HLC + Engine would not be a good combo? If you roll 4 hits - good, if even a single eye appears (either naturally or via TL), it is turned into a crit. Engine Upgrade can help getting things in arc for the HLC (and if not, you still have 3 dice with Marksmanship).

Some here have used HLC with calculation on Bossk. Marksmanship may be better. I have certainly rolled 4 eyes with HLC with only aTL to use. Used it and it then rolled 4 non hits. So 8 dice,no hits. A focus token was ups have been nice. Apparently I I had re rolled any Crits, the Crits would have stuck.
