Has anyone given the Banthas a shot working for the Empire? Both of the below I think would be pretty saucy with a lot of neat ways to take advantage of push and stampede.

Main drawback when running bantha not for mercs - you cant take beast tamer. Stun becomes much bigger issue.
If you still wanna go for it, I suggest you take tuskens instead of nexu with it, for the terror cards. Also no point to take eOfficers since you have no 3 dice attacker, and extra attack is hardly gonna benefit the same way as with RGC or any other 3 dice rollers. 2 space move should be enough to get extra stampedes anyway
Edited by ArvissElite officers give full 5 movement instead of just two points. They can also be used with the other attackers if it's a better fit depending on stage of the game. Also, having an extra trooper or nexu attack isn't anything to shake a stick at. Sometimes that will be a focused trooper throwing three dice.

Edited by MasterchiefspiffI think the most bang for your buck comes from running the Bantha out of Mercs, rather than allied in with Imperials. Beast Tamer really feels like a mandatory upgrade. Having a range 10 Trample is just too good. You can even use it to move onto figures, then play Parting Blow as your quarry pushes out, get the damage for Stampede as well, then use your first action to clear stun and then Trample.
The list I've been thinking of, now that I've used the Bantha a few times with mixed results is;

Getting some Focus support on the HK's will help their long-range shooting and white-die-reroll shenanigans. Also, Gideon can help out with the Bantha by making it move and triggering a Stampede in addition to whatever the Bantha does on its own activation.
Could be good. Could be terrible. All I know is that going all-in with the Bantha can really swing the game either way, depending on when and how you do it. I'm still working on the patience needed to time it just right...

Ah I'm pretty sure you can't use parting blow when you finish your move with the bantha, Parting blow states that you get to attack a hostile figure when it tries to leave an adjacent space, when the bantha stops the area it is in becomes "it's" space, i.e. it owns those spaces, from the RRG:
A Massive figure can end its movement in spaces that contain
blocking terrain and/or other figures. Any figures in its spaces
are pushed into the closest empty space of its controller’s
choice (taking impassable terrain into account)
So when the hostile is pushed it is moving from the banthas space (pretty sure you aren't adjacent with yourself) to the closest empty space, which depending on some instances may actually be 2 spaces away. I believe there was some discussion about this in the rules forum as well, not sure what the final decision was but I would be most surprised if you could use parting blow in this situation.

I got initiative and almost had the best possible starting CC you could ask for
Jundland, Ferocity, Take Initiative, and Endless Reserves.
I did lose the match but the first round and beginning of the 2nd were epic for me. I got a couple extra stampedes in from extra movement from Weiss during the round and from Jundland at the end. The extra-extra attack I got from Ferocity was pretty darn cool, too. I used Take initiative at the beginning of the 2nd and trampled 3 eSabs, and attacked/killed Gideon. His 3PO ended up dieing to stampede damage! It's too bad I didn't end up with the Crush card at the start other wise I probably could've taken out something else before the Bantha died. Definitely a fun list to use!

Fine, I'll tell you, but I'm not going to stop calling you Shirley.
The weakness of this list is that it has no ranged capability whatsoever, and that I am exposed after attacking. Any swarm based ranged (played correctly) list will pick this list apart, as I have to rely on range, poor attack rolls, and lucky dice rolls to defend, or to use pounce at close range, and then use the Nexu's considerable movement to create some range. However, the inclusion of the Bantha makes the idea of be adjacent to anything friendly a risky proposition.
Take as many of the cheapest units you can find. Regular Snowtroopers x4 for 28 points (with 12 points of anything else) are the perfect foil, as they (Surge): Weaken and can discard the Bleed effect on multiple Troopers with their ERG. Regular Stormtroopers work well, as the can reroll attack dice, but have less health. I would shy away from Heavy Stormtroopers, they may be tougher and have a longer effective range, but the will never get their defensive bonus and Blast is all but worthless against this list after round 2.
Thank you. I am new to skirmish and want to learn how to play using stormtroopers. I'll take a look at including the snow troopers. I am also thinking of removing Kane Somos from my list and using Royal Guard Champion or more troopers.

How do you guys think something like this will be? I understand Bossk isn't available yet but he seems pretty solid.

I know i am a new and don't have real world playing experience. But it seems like there could be decent synergy here. Bantha can help vs swarms while bossk seems like he can be good against single targets.
Overall thoughts? Be easy on this newb! 
HKs are great but pretty squishy I'd drop one set to give yourself something extra you could put on the front line. To draw attention away from Bossk and the Nexu. Maybe E Tuskens and Devious schemes? Maybe a regular Nexu and a set of Hired Guns?
I am thinking about bossk and bantha for sure!
After that you need to make sure you have a good number of activations otherwise you'll have to move your bantha too soon into the fray and get it slaughtered.

That's six activations which I still don't feel is enough but better than five. I don't know. Maybe you can't really get to seven that easily with the combo of bossk and bantha. Maybe dropping elite nexu to get wing guards if they're any good. Or putting in two Ugnaught tinkerers.

Was lots of fun and didn't feel too bad on the table. If I do well in my first regional this weekend it will seem more play.
I found the key to be when to charge in compared to when to dominate areas of the map and stall.
Every time I look to swap something out I feel bad that I am going if theme though...
