Sneaky x2

Was thinking of a sneaky list - wondering how effective this would be.

Echo, VI, ACD, FCS, recon specialist

Whisper, VI, ACD, FCS, recon specialist

Interceptor (alpha squadron piolet)

The thought here is to have the interceptor go be bait. Draw fire and otherwise be the distraction. He's there to simply fill points.

Each phantom has good PS (8 and 9 ) so should be moving last and shooting first

So each turn:

Decloak+de cloak move - move, action(usually focus, get 2 Tokens) - shoot - (using target lock from last turn if needed and getting a fresh free target lock), free cloak repeat.

With 4 red dice each, free target locks and defensive getting 4 dice base, with a focus or 2 to help on dodge (cause target locks for attack) plus range/obstruct bonus these guys should be very durable.

Sorry I'm terribly new to the game and have tons of ideas. I enjoy feedback for them so apologies for the topic "spam". It is really like some feedback on this as I really like the phantom and want to see if it's worth picking up a second or even 3rd one.

The first couple changes I would make are:

Trading "Whisper"'s Recon Specialist for a Rebel Captive. Rebel Captive can really give you the edge against other high PS aces, and she's already getting a Focus for defense from her ability. Granted RecSpec can give you an extra if you're being shot multiple times, but a Phantom really shouldn't be getting shot multiple times.

Second, for 18 points you can get something better than an Alpha Interceptor. Something like Omega Squadron TIE/fo with Crack Shot. Tougher, more maneuverable, and can force damage through.

You could also maybe find another 1-point EPT for "Echo". PS8 is good, but it might as well still be PS6 against anyone PS9+. Adrenaline Rush could let you pull a crazy Echo de-cloak barrel roll into a k-turn with no stress.

I see what you mean with adrenaline rush - the only issue I have with it is the fact it's a "one off" I really don't like those and generally avoid them in every game I play. I'd personally rather have ongoing abilities I can rely on turn to turn.

How often do lists have straight up pure ps9 or better? 8 may not be the best but it's gotta be near the top right? I doubt I'd be going last shooting wise .... Unless I'm really wrong in all my noobishness

The meta is wide open, so you're right that there will likely be non-aces. But at a lot of top tables you're going to see things like Soontir Fel, Darth Vader and Omicron Group Pilot, where PS 8 gives you nothing that PS 6 doesn't already provide. The question really becomes, "How many PS 6-8 Pilots will I see?" Because the PS 7s and 8s of the world would love shooting at a two agility "Echo".

Which brings me to my next thought. If you're paying for VI for your phantoms, wouldn't you want to set some points aside for initiative? Simultaneous fire is great, but if you shoot second with ACD phantoms, you are at a real disadvantage because you haven't recloaked yet. I would suggest a cheap TIE Pilot like " Night Beast" to save some points for initiative, but also be a pain to kill. After all, he's not there for his firepower, but to draw fire.
