players who know how to fly.

The empire as has been repeatedly stated has some of the most maneuverable ships in the game AND they come equipped with some of the best pilots in the game.
True they lack on turrets, regen, illicit upgrades but what the empire does is not dependant upon gimmicks or tricks you get crushed under the weight of the empire itself. It doesn't need to be fancy. It's effective and brutally so.
Maybe one day the Imperials will get a super awesome ZOMG trick available to only them but as of now be content with having some of the best tricks in the game available to them and most effective in their hands.

Tie Defenders w/ titles.
I think evasion is the Imperials' thing.
It can't be a factions "thing" if other factions have it.
Just because high agility ships with evade are more common for the Imperials, doesn't mean the other factions don't also have them. Imperials have NO ships with Astromechs, NO ships with Illicit. Those are those factions "thing".
Personally, I hate that there are things. I already think it's dumb that Scum and Rebels have two different types of Astromech slots.
And I think Illicit is dumb. Illegal upgrades should have been just Modifications(for ship parts) and Elite Talents(for drugs) with the Scum Only limitation on them.
Edited by DarthEnderXBuzzsaws are an Imperial thing, largely. Although IG88B is sort of one... and there is FCS Corran.
Also... the shuttle is the truth.
Seems silly to complain about Imperials flying only Palp and Aces. It's been a thing for ten minutes. Players have endured far more pervasive trends than that.
Sorry, double post
Edited by mamajamma21AGI 3 is pretty much only Imperial.
2 for Scum and 1 for Rebel vs 6 1/2 for Imperial (Counting the Phantom as 1/2)
Tie Fighter, Tie FO, TIE Advanced, TIE Adv Prototype, TIE Interceptor, TIE Defender, and TIE Phantom (most of the time).
I'd say that could very well be the "Imperial Thing"
Aces. That, and their iconic movie ships are actually *good*, so you don't have to take weird EU stuff like K-Wings.
TIE Swarm was always good, and now there are more variants than just Howl+W/E. Nobody can out-swarm the Imps.
If the T-65 was as good at it's cost as the TIE fighter is for it's cost, then I might see Imperial complaints as more well founded.

That is not a THING! One particular type of list does not qualify as a thing!
An upgrade slot that no other faction has. That's a thing. An Action type that no other faction has. That would be a thing.
AGI 3 is pretty much only Imperial.

Cloak is imperial only. There you have your "thing" The scum version that's coming out is not reliable enough for serious use it it can blow itself up.
Also 3 AGI on more than twice as many ships as every other faction COMBINED is a "thing" whether you want to accept it or not.
Great dress sense. Obviously.
The dark side of the Force... Vader, Palp, Mara Jade.
It really is the dial
Apart from r2 astro, you won't find sexier dials outside the awing (a lovely ship which still won't compare with inquisitor or OL/ZL ito damage without prockets)
Imps are the l2fly faction (outside the deci naturally). The higher than average agility is, quite obviously, a trap. The best defense is not getting shot.
Lets also not forget that the empire has the best ways to spam Crackshot with 6 TIEs.

Am I seriously seeing heat over the inner-game definition of the word "thing"?

That's fair. But if that's really going to be the Empire's "thing" then they need to have more than one ship with it.
It also makes SLAM a Rebel thing. But I'm confident that the Missile Boat will eventually bring it to the Imperials.

I like how they are uniquely different and have a different play style. But that's me. Also I think the differences are getting muted especially for the Imperials.
Honour?.. nah... Legitimacy?...ish. Nice uniforms! Thats it!
our chief weapon is surprise surprise and fear
Edited by IhavebadluckIf you don't see the empire as having a thing that's fine but it is still not a problem.
The imperials have Ties, cheap, efficient, fast and maneuverable.
Imperials are all about the arc-dodge and avoiding shots, backed by super-tanky large ships that can't evade anything. Every small Imperial ship can Boost and/or Barrel Roll by default, and soon all but two of those small ships have access to Evades.
Rebels may be able to hide behind shields and regenerate, but Imperials excel by not being in position to get shot in the first place.

I love Ties.

Twin Laser Turret. There, I said it.
Is this an Imperial thang?:
Stern women in positions of power. So the Empire is the home of gender equality versus those sexist Rebel scum.
Also, what you are saying is that if I like the Empire, I should vote Hillary. She definitely fits the Imperial bill...
Players whining a lot about a lack of diversity then playing nothing but palpatine and two aces.
When you mostly have to rely on green dice to see the job done, especially versus all the TLT silliness, the Palpmobile is the goto build.
Not all of us enjoy the Palpmobile however (I don't, friends don't) - but it is a development of the meta and is sadly often necessary - being pushed into a list archetype still doesn't make the meta diverse... so the complaints are valid.
Oh and where were you when Fat Han/Chewie ruled Supreme for 6/7 waves?
Flying them?
As for the OP, we have:
OMG! I need this card! It's cunning!
