NPC villain group markers

By daddystabz, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I am running a local campaign and one of the things I've had issues with is keeping track of different NPCs that are part of different villain groups. For example, let's say an encounter calls for 3 Stormtrooper minion groups...I need markers I can lay on the battlemat or tiles we use to track which minis belong to which group.

Do any of you have a tool you can point me to that would serve me well with this? It would be great if they had numbers on them as markers.

For the quick and easy, maybe checkers, chess pieces or poker chips? Those last ones come in various colors, are usually pretty cheap, and can be labeled with stickers. For the long term, maybe pick up some older WotC Star Wars miniatures?

Cheapest and easiest way for markers is to get a box of miniature bases then write on them the villain number. I would add squad number plus individual number like 1-1. That will tell you that this is the first guy in first squad.

Personally I just went into photoshop made small round circles then went to google and pulled up artwork of various groups. I then put the copy/paste artwork over the circles and cropped out the overlay with the magic wand tool>inverse selection>delete and walla nice little npc markers.

In the instance I want to represent a minion group I just place a minature dice on top of the token to represent how many are in the group.

Hope that helps for an idea

Print token pics on paper. Gluestick paper on thin paste/cardboard. Use circle punch ~$10 at arts/crafts shop.

Great idea, and would reduce clutter, too, by minimizing tokens on the table.

like others have said. Here's what I did for my 4e days.

1. Token tool and google to create the images

2. Gimp or any image editor to compile a page of tokens

3. print said page.

4. Use a 1" circle cutter purchase at a hobby store or hobby section of your favorite super market.

5. Glue them onto these lovely 1" circular tokens I have found at several different hobby and craft stores.

Adjust steps above for your preferred unit of measure.
