Well i finally started with making a force sensitive tusken raider

By LolKnight, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Now I just need a wee bit of help with a backstory cause I'm not really good with making up stories....Oh and I also need help with coming up with a name

I'm imagining Sand People have some sort of clan based structure or maybe it's just a warlord thing. Whomever is the strongest or what have you.

Have they encountered outsiders?

Are they an outcast?

Why did they leave their home?

How did they discover the force?

Answering these questions might help you with your backstory.

Your Tuskan could be the only one Anikin spared because he sensed the force in him as a child. The Tusken didn't know this at the time and had to watch helplessly as his/her entire tribe was murdered for no reason (from the child's perspective at least). They could be looking for a way off Tatooine or already be in space looking to take revenge on Anikin. You wouldn't really get much resolution but they could be looking for Anikin's kids.

Maybe they treat the Force as some shamanistic thing, using prayers and herbs to help, or believing that it is a gift given to them by one of their gods.

What era are you playing in? That would help with answering about your backstory.

As for the name, try something with two or three words in it; it should probably feel 'alien' to other humans.

Alien with an incomprehnlensible language?

Be vague. Have fun with it.

I'd go with Darmock at Tanagra. Why did they leave home? They were there when the walls fell.

We had a named Tuskan NPC in our game named Kar'rrr'rr'rrl pronounced Carl.

I thought there was some real gold in your last post about this...

The era am in is episode 4 the new hope

Considering sand people are nomadic and almost exclusively based on Tatooine, and even then on the outskirts of civilization, your biggest hurdle is explaining how your character has integrated into a path which might fit within the confines of your campaign. Not only that, but how they're going to deal with being in this campaign which might bring it far from the life that it knows. I would imagine that Sand People are resistant to change and civilization.

This I think would have to be the focal point of the character's obligation. What would be motivation enough for a character like this to branch out in this way? Perhaps vengeance or the pursuit of assistance which might only be found in a civilized environment.

Hmm well I think his motivation might be to get revenge on anikin (or his kids) for killing his tribe in AoTC

Darn. I'm new here so I never saw the old post. Well, great minds think alike I suppose.

The biggest hurdle will be getting him off Tatooine because everyone is hostile to Tuskens. They have good reason to be as well. The first step would be him removing all associations of him being a Tusken to start off with. Now, according to the abandoned EU, Tusken Raiders are a human/near human species and all of their gear is designed for surviving the harsh elements of Tatooine. He'd also have to learn Basic and speak only that due to the extreme hatred that Tusken Raiders face. Once you have those two things figured out then you can easily get him integrated into a group. One of his major issues would be trusting of outsiders and overcoming that. Tuskens do not trust anyone that isn't themselves or a Jawa.

The moment he leaves Tatooine hardly anyone knows what he is. 100000 zillions species on zillion worlds ;-)

Yeah I been trying to figure how on earth I'm suppose to get him off of the planet without guys shooting at him are tuskens really capable of speaking basic

I don't see why not. There's nothing in the canon that says they can't speak basic.

Hmm well i did some reaserching and found out that they can speak basic but considering their extremly xenophobic they decided not too

He just needs something he hates more that he hates/distrusts/fears everyone else... and the knowledge that he can't go after said object-of-hate alone.

You know, like Anakin. Or Jedi's in general. Or, if he ever figures out that Anakin is Darth Vader, the whole **** Empire. Go crazy with it...
