Best British podcast

So - currently my favourite podcast is Scum and Villainy, you guys are just great - lovely, easy to listen to voices, erudite and funny... I could listen to you all day (out of interest I listen to you mostly whilst relaxing in the bath... :/)

However, as lovely as the S+V boys are I miss the dulcet tones of the British - are there any good, competative centric British podcast that AREN'T linked through i-tunes?

I have started listening to the 186th Squadron Podcast. They're newer, but they're putting out good episodes :)

That said, you should make Back to Dials part of your bath time ;) </shamelessplug>

I've listened to a couple of BtD, can't say I've gelled with it - can't put my finger on why, just not for me

I'LL ADD A BRIT!!! I'M DESPERATE FOR LISTENERS! DON'T GO!! I'LL DO AN ACCENT

*Sobs uncontrollably*

This reminds me of a funny story when I visited Britain and was at a pub. I made friends with a guy and we tried to do the other's accent. It was hilariously terrible.

Ha - ok, British accents on the next episode and, if they're British enough then I'll listen to all your back episodes and all episodes from now on...

You were already needing to do this... not the accent... that could go very poorly! You do need to add a Brit and quickly! Particularly for on-the-ground coverage of the Open Series Finale!

Though, I got to admit, you should do a Challonge Bracket versus each other and draw accents out of a hat and see who is the best 'accent' person on the show!

Cloud City Radio is pretty good, albeit I still find the audio quality a bit iffy. Second the recommendation of the 186th - it's a bit dry, but they know their stuff.

Back to Dials

Nova Squadron Radio

Scum and Villainy

186th Squadron

Mynock Squadron

The Kessel Run

I need to put Cloud City Radio in the que

186th is pretty good, definitely the podcast I've listened to the most.

are you American? because to us Brits, dry is basically sidesplitting, and i dont think you guys get that sometimes.

2) No. No I'm not.

1) In a world where a) Stephen Colbert and b) Keith Lemon exist, the old, smug, self-congratulatory "Oh Americans Just Don't Get Dry British Humour" meme doesn't carry a lot of water.

2) No. No I'm not.

yeah, you see, that was me being dry and hilareous, and you didn't get it. are you SURE you're not American?

So back to dials does fake British accents every now and again. Basically the only reason to listen to nova is Kris Sherriff's glorious British voice, but I use his sentry box productions to get my fix there. I'm not currently aware of any stricltly British productions.

The 186 podcast is relatively new (three episodes) and has gotten better each episode.

I keep trying to play the comedian, and then Alex just edits me out in the name of getting the podcast as short as possible! How can I work in such conditions?! :(

In all seriousness, we've tried to keep episode 4 (which we just recorded while this thread was ongoing) a little more lighthearted!

Any other feedback is appreciated! :)
