PS 8....is it cereal?Let's talk about THAT.

Screw serial. BACON!!!!!!!

It is a reference to a not-very-good South Park episode.

"Not-very-good" is sort of implied, isn't it?

I'm not certain I'm getting the best use of my ept slots by using VI on echo and also mauler mithel.

For better context...I'm flying...

Echo,VI,kallus,sensor jammer,ACD

Mauler.mithel,VI

Omega leader,juke,com relay

Wampa.

PS is always a question about bidding against the metagame.

First, is it important to you that your pilot(s) shoot first, compared to the cost of bringing VI instead of another choice? For Echo it's arguably very important--so important that you hardly ever see another EPT on her. On Mauler, look at what else you could have: Crack Shot and Calculation are both pretty effective 1-point EPTs, and I've seen people use Lone Wolf on him with some success. So there's definitely an opportunity cost.

Second, how likely are you to actually get the position you're bidding for? Right now, the metagame is pretty well saturated with VI Whisper, Soontir, Vader, Poe (with and without VI), Corran, and Chiraneau. Soon Dengar could be hanging around at PS9, as well. So it looks to me like stepping from PS6 to PS8 might not be worth much, while PS7 to PS9 at least gets you over the 8s and may beat the 9s as well.

So it's really important for Echo to get the initiative bid, but she won't be able to do it reliably right now. I'd consider throwing something else on her (Predator might be really nice). It's much less important for Mauler, but PS9 is a much better bid than PS8, so it's a harder choice. Try him with Crack Shot instead, and see what your results feel like.

The funny thing about words is that they mean things. Don't use words that mean something else. Seriously.

Meh, if you didn't get the reference right away it's no big deal. There is lots of things I'm not familiar with either.

If the examples and easy clues provided in the original post weren't enough to deduce the intent of the topic then that's all good as well. Puzzles aren't for everyone.

If discussing the topic of Echo not crossing the p.s.9 barrier or adding thoughts regarding common middle p.s. issues

Or.. Alternatively saying something amusing about cereal...

Happens to not be to your taste...well... There's lots of other threads around.

Your welcome to the table or the door.

I think I tend to rebel against PS pumping... it's really irritating to waste good slots putting Vader at 11. Why can't people just roll with the punches? If you lose the PS fight, fly to block instead. Adapt your strategy. At least that's how it feels to me.

I just want to throw in Lucky Charms since it hasn't been mentioned yet.

... Okay, I'll be over here now. Bye.

King Vitaman

Awesome! Glad to see someone else's mom got them this stuff. I thought it was pretty tasty, but it ripped the roof of your mouth up pretty good...

Agreed. I like to have a mix of PS in my squads with strategies for either situation. One of my favorite ships is the Green Squadron pilot with PTL and Wired. At PS3 you fly circles around the PS2 spam or become one of the top blockers in the game vs just about everything else.

And of course, Honeycomb. Cause Honeycomb's big, yeah, yeah, yeah!

whats wasteful, i find VI to be the best EPT on Vader, Predator is one of my most hated EPt's, everytime i take it i reroll misses to more misses.

Oooh, yeah, Honeycomb. Or Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs...

Frosted Flakes, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Frosted Mini Wheats, Smacks, Cookie Crisp, Cocoa Pebbles...

Man I really love cereal...

ok since we are on cereal my voye is on cheerios with chocolate milk.

That's redundant.

You guys are epically wrong. Epically.

im cuckoo for cocoa puffs, OP

To counter all the PS8 Meta, I usually use all PS9 pilots.

I call it my Cereal Killer List.

(I can't believe it took me so long to come up with that. I'm way off my game today.)

Brobots doesn't care about PS 8, except for the weird people who fly Brobots with VI. My own confiuration would honest be just as good at PS 3 as it is at PS 6. When you have AdvS, you're fine with moving first.

VI is almost always a waste on Echo right now, and for the foreseeable future.

If you want the higher PS, go with Decoy and bring along another ace (the PS 12 TIE FO comes to mind).

If you don't care about PS, your first instinct was correct: Lone Wolf. It makes Echo very tanky, just don't be in a rush to decloak for the first engagement. Draw fire with tanky cloaked Echo until you can swing behind the opponent. Then do your damage after they are forced to split fire.

I just want to throw in Lucky Charms since it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Do you think lucky charms could help my green dice?

No, I didn't know it was from that truly terrible TV show, nor did I need to know it to solve your "puzzle".

The only puzzling thing is why you would think it's funny. No one missed your reference. It was just poorly done.

It is not elegant or witty. It's worse than when people tried to substitute Cereal for Serious in the 90's... it wasn't funny then nor was it funny 10 years after that, and 10 years after that episode aired it's still retreaded word vomit that degrades our already falling language.

It's not a puzzle to have to decide if someone is a non-native speaker or if they are just being lazy (or if it's a really bad auto-correct)...or if they don't know better. The power of words is that they do have meaning and express awesome ideas (not like the song...overwhelming or inspiring) so concisely and the power of communication only comes from that clarity.

Sadly, you also decided to drag Echo into this. Both named phantom pilot's callsigns/nicknames are evocative and demonstrate the beauty that language can hold.

You also missed that most often the subject of breakfast goods is reserved for signaling the end of a topic on this forum. Your topic was dead on arrival.

Here's a table; please don't vandalize it, it is not a surface for drawing. There's a door; that's the thing that we walk through to leave a room. Just wanted to be clear.

Stop trying to make cereal happen.

Really, what on gods' earth do you mean by that?

Then he's using it wrong. Cereal means serious not good.

What the Hell this topic about? ;)

I think it's about the Thundercats but I'm not sure.

PS 8 is "middle"? One below the highest is considered middle? What, second place is first place loser?

I swear, I think people look at PS like this:

PS 9+ better than Soontir

PS 9 Anything less than this sucks

PS 7 Brobots

PS 4 better TLT's and Blackshot

PS 2 TLT's

PS 1 Academy Pilots

Anything not on the list isn't worth playing.
