Vessery/Inquisitor/Redline - Target Locks Everywhere.
Edited by Bluebees
Seems a shame to put X-7 on Vessery considering his ability gets double its value with TIE/D. Of course, your ships are already stretched thin on upgrades, I don't think you can afford to make any single ship more expensive. Although as is, no autothrusters on Inquisitor is a bit of a shame. I'd consider dropping Vessery down to a generic Defender just to get that.
Edited by blade_mercurialthe list im planning similar to yours is:
the Inquisitor(25)
PTL 3
autothrusters 2
Tie/v1 1
Colonel Vessery(35)
VI 1
ion cannon 3
Tie/D
epsilon squadron pilot(15)
epsilon squadron pilot(15)
think its got decent health green and red dice and the extra target locks will help, Vessery has gd damage output and the epsilons can block

The point about Vessery is something I haven't thought of, and a very valid one at that. I'm ok with the autothruster loss on paper, but once it hits the table, I would be sad I don't have it.
Two very good observations. Thank you.
"Redline" (27)
or a cheap little Sienar Test Pilot to give a quick 1-2 punch with a Chimp+TL enhanced Procket.
I've been trying to figure out a good Vessery list for when Veterans drops but just haven't been able to find something to accompany both him and Redline, maybe they're just too expensive to fit well together. The best I can think of is:
Omega Leader (juke and comm)
Vessery (VI, TIE/D and tractor beam)
Redline (FCS, EM, guidance chips, cluster missiles and flechettes)
Personally I plan on flying Vader in place of Redline in that list (and give Vessery an ion cannon instead of a tractor beam) but that's probably because of my poor experience with the Punisher. The only time I ever flew Redline I unloaded a focused + TL cluster missile on a Y-Wing and did zero damage but obviously YMMV =(.
With the list in the OP, you could just drop the Flechette Torpedoes from Redline to get Autothrusters on Vessery. It's been my observation so far that Redline is too easy to focus down to try to get 4 ordnance shots off with him.
You use Adaptability (or VI if you need to get him up to 8 to shoot first before the rest of the list), TIE/D, Tractor Beam on Vessery, and the third slot is filled with one or two ships of your choice, my preference is TIE Shuttle plus Fleet Officer and TIEMk2.
Swap the Inquisitor for Comms Relay + Juke Omega Leader and give Vessery TIE/d + Tractor Beam, that way you get to abuse his ability more and Tractor Beams agility reduction with OLs token stripping makes for incredibly scary Cluster Missiles!
OL doesn't strip tokens though? Quite the opposite in fact; ships he targets are not going to ever spend tokens unless he spends his lock.

Oh, you are right, I thought of Juke seperatly. Well he still is pretty awesome anyways and has the TL synergy! I think T-Beam Vessery is the way to go.
The Vessery build I am most excited to try (when Imp Vets is out) is:
TIE/D, tractor beam & ruthlessness = 39 (maybe a mod added if points allow)
Not only is it a decent control build, but its excellent against 4+ ship builds because most players using such builds rely very much on formation flying. They will be forced to either break up (and get pushed out of their comfort zone, increasing the chances of pilot errors) or suffer the consequences ![]()
I don't think it works if you run more than 3 ships (because of the risk of hurting your own ships), so to compliment him, a pair of target locking aces of some sort would be ideal. Basically, something to deal with other high PS aces/turrets (since those are the things Vessery doesn't specifically counter, unless they too fly in formation...).
