Who has Vader's back? Can he dance with TLTs and live?

Well, I went with 1 win and 3 loses unfortunately. The one game I won was against 4 Crack-Obsidians and a Phantom. The other three were all against TLTs. The list I ended up taking was:

Vader +VI +X1+Engine Upgrade +ATC

Colzet +X1+Fire Control System+ Twin ION Engine MkII

Wampa

Black Squadron Pilot

Obsidian Squadron Pilot

Vader went down in all the games. Colzet always lived past Vader, sometimes till the end of the game, used his ability 3-4 time I believe. Wampa was a big target (used his ability once). Need to practice keeping all the TIEs in the fight at the same time without needing to break some off to circle around or to avoid all the fire.

Vader, in your list, was the biggest threat, which makes sense that he was focused down early. Wampa is, in general, terrifying, but he actually has to roll crits to trigger, so, imo, he's a secondary concern.

When you have a singular threat in your list, you generally want to play them defensively or as bait, so your less priority ships can take shots, even if Vader is out of arc.

That being said, I find that to be a bigger PIA than anything, which is why all of my lists try to spread threat out equally (in a Palpmobile and Aces list, your opponent has two aces that are roughly equal threat, and Palpy sitting on a shuttle, another completely viable target).

And at least you win a game! You'll do better next time!

Zeta Leader makes for a strong Anti-TLT ship.

Take him with Wired for 21 points, add Comm Relay for 3 if you've got points.

He'll be throwing 3/4 red dice, and gets 3 greens with eyeballs re-rolled, plus an Evade token + a Focus token if you have an Evade banked with Comm Relay. It can be a bunch of work to chew through.

Indeed I need to practice to get better. I am going to try more TIEs and see where I get. Perhaps keep Colzet and drop Vader, or try one of the named FOs with regular TIEs. Emperor will not tolerate failure for too long :)

I know its too late but..

So vader is a little squishy without palp to save him. Also his dial sucks. He hits likle a truck at range 1 though but you need to be able to stay on the same target.

I ran him with predator but I dont think i would do that now.

Juno, accuracy corrector and juke are probably solid uses of points.

Colzet, accuracy corrector is my favorite kit for him and is a nice 23 points.

Imo, throw away ties are weak to tlt's. Green dice alone will not save you. You need hull/modifications.

*wampa is much better if you have palpatine.

Yeah - I can imagine if you can save the Palp-effect for Wampa he gets brutal... On the TIEs - not to easy to invest points in those without making them too pricey for what they do, I don't know - I don't think I ever put any Mods on them...

Also, interesting that you find Vader's dial lacking - that usually is one of the ships I enjoy using for his maneuverability - alas I always give him EU card...
