MPG's Armada Repaints

By MPG, in Star Wars: Armada

So I got into Armada about 2 months ago, I started out with 1 CR-90. I tried painting it, but that didn't go so well. The peg broke after dropping it and when scrubbing the paint away after the first attempt the right airlock somehow dissolved. I quickly repainted it again with better results. I hadn't attempted painting again until after painting my X-wing ships.

Starting out is the first CR-90 (left). The poor thing somehow got half dissolved and the paint from the previous attempt is still hanging around. As soon as I get the core set this one is being replaced with a better model.

Next is the one I am much more proud of (mainly because I finally did something on the first attempt). Most of you can probably identify her as The Liberator from Rebels.

Hopefully she will soon have a good looking companion to fly beside. Maybe even two or three!

My Star Destroyer Deception. She's a nice clean Imperial gray. I may have to go back in and clean up some of those panels.

And finally my MC-80 that has yet to be named.

That's probably it for a while until I can get my hands on the actual game. Hopefully I don't get sidetracked by another CR-90.

I really like the ISD paintjob, but I think the MC80 needs some color in it.

I really like the desaturated look, actually: the ships look real "gritty" which I think is essential for the Star Wars aesthetic.

The only feedback I have is that maybe if you thinned your washes just a tiny bit or added more flow-aid (or windex, whatever's in your budget), they wouldn't pool so much- that will help those close up shots look spectacular, as that macro setting can be really unforgiving on otherwise great in-person models

If you don't paint the MC-80 you could call it the "The Silver Bullet"

They look really nice, MPG! I really like the ISD, very thematic :) . Got a nice sleek feel to it ;)

Keep it up!
