Thank you Phil Sibbering

By LordofEndTimes, in Dark Heresy

I have a feeling that he might be provling in here somewhere. I just have to say that his thoughts on the Cult Mechanicus and Tech-implants is really awesome! The ideas presented on his website has really made a Tech-priest playable in my eyes. I have really struggled with the philosophies of the Tech-Priests, but after reading his thoughts on the subjet it just became so much clearer. It actually made sense to me. AND most importantly: it made me WANT to play a Tech-Priest because now I have som great guidelines on how to play and perceive the World of 40K through the eyes of one of the Akolouthos Mekhane (love the name as I am huge koiné greek nerd.)

So I just wanted to point others in his direction as his thoughts on the Adeptus Mechanicus gave me the best answer on what the Adeptus Mechanicus could be like, and that , I wanted to share with the rest of you.

So cheers Philip Sibbering! Thank you for presenting me with a great version of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Yes, you might call this a personal epiphany for me happy.gif

I wrote it for moments like this - I'm glad you like it, and I wish you many happy hours advancing the cause of the Adeptus Mechanicus!

Be wary of delving too deeply into Phil-verse!

Many unwary souls have been ensnared by the fluff-heresies contained within those unholy pages gui%C3%B1o.gif

Just kidding. I also find Phil-verse very refreshing. Found it while writing a piece abut Hive cities. Very good. Now you need to keep adding stuff Phil; Haven't seen any new heresies lately...

There are new little heresies popping up all the time. I have recently started to post update notices via my blog .

One of the latest projects I'm working on in conjuction with Dazzo over on the Bolter and Chainsword forum is the 1,000 Chapter Project, and may part is creating the Visual Index which allows you to hunt down chapters, but also showcases many DIY chapters.

I will be updating my main website some more, once WarSpike (ruleset) and Sciror (meta-framework) and up and running.

Sciror is basically 'Philverse' with all the GW references ripped out. There is a grimdrak setting in the offing called ' Stare Into The Abyss '. As I developing this, I will then use it to create further heresies on my 40K pages, and delve deep into the rich underbelly of 40K (as I see it!) Hopefully this will give Philverse are even deeper structure, and allow me to wax lyrical about infrastructure, civilizations, society, psionics, demons and even undead! Even more than I do now (I believe Sciror is flexible enough to handle it)

One area I do want to expand is the Ecoriums, and the Ecorium designs and diagrams of Sciror/ SITA, will be used as to expand what is up on my site right now, but 40K'd.

Philip

PS: 40K'd means 'to make 40K like', but in a way that is 'OK' with the background.

I came across Phil's website a few months ago and have just started to convert some of his work into the rules and will be using it as my house rules/canon from now on.

I especially like his work on lasguns and the imperial guard and have just sprung the "Imperial Guard Standard Issue Lasgun" with it's utterly evil shock/blind and heart attack inducing capacities...a much more fun symbol of imperial oppression than cheaply made rather crap lasguns of the normal rules.

Pax.

I've drawn a lot of inspiration off the fluff there, mixed some of it with my own, other 40K & Calixis fluff. Then unleashed it where it still causes bewilderment, terror and probably a few (player) insanity points, a horrible cocktail that has become one of those places even the bravest and dumbest characters wishes to tread, like on Cthulhu's big toe. One day, there will be a character insane enough to go there... but more than likely the poor f**kers will end up there anyway :D

Definatly the most useful 40k site around for ideas.
