Super Tale of Tinuviel

I was looking at Tale of Tinuviel and thinking of interesting ways to use it... just cuz.

So I realized that if a Dunedain character has Elf-friend attached, it could possibly use ToT on itself by exhausting itself to ready itself and then boost its own stats. This would allow you to use the combo in an all-Dunedain deck, but honestly, it's stronger with an actual Noldor character because there are no Dunedain characters with more than 2 willpower, but you could use Celebrian's Stone, Sword that was Broken, and many other attachments to boost Aragorn's willpower. If you have just Celebrian's Stone on Aragorn, he'll have 4 willpower. ToT will put him at 8 willpower, 7 attack, and 6 defense. Then, since he has Elf-friend attached, you can use Fair and Perilous on him to boost his attack to 15! Going from 4/3/2 to 8/15/6 for a phase for just 2 resources (3 more to set him up with the stone and Elf-friend) seems like a heck of a bargain, especially if you can get a whole lot of readying on him.

Obviously, this is a janky combo though because it requires you to have 2 cards attached to him already + hopefully some readying + play 2 other cards at the same time, but it is surprisingly cheap for all of those cards with the exception of the readying.

Now, I said you could "possibly" use ToT like this. I have a question sent to Matt and Caleb to see if it works. I believe it all comes down to the interpretation of the word "exhausted", whether it was simply referring to the character who had been exhausted or if it was meant the character needed to continue to be exhausted to use their willpower (since the word "exhausted" can be a past-tense or present-tense verb).

Tale of Tinuviel specifically references printed Willpower for reasons such as this.

Oh man. Somehow missed that bit. Still, could add Galadriel's or Cirdan's Willpower for 4 with Tale of Tinuviel, which can be huge all by itself. This is such a powerful card.

Nevermind.

Tale of Tinuviel adds the stats of the exhausted character to “the other character’s willpower, attack, and defense.” You must target a character other than the character you exhausted in order to fulfill the character.
Cheers,
Caleb
