My version of Paul's worlds list

By adder, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I thought I'd come up with a list that was as close as I could get to Paul's with only the stuff I have. He took a late game regenerator, a stress dealer, a TLT carrier, and a blocker (to over simplify). So here's my take:

Luke, lone wolf and R2D2

blue sq pilot, BW/E2 and tactician

Roark, TLT and Nien Numb

Prototype pilot, Chardaan refit

100 pts.

I have very little experience playing, do no idea how to fly this other than what I learned by watching a couple of Paul's worlds matches, so I might swap out the A-wing and the hawk for ak-wing. I'm afraid that in trying to block with the a , I'd just throw it away.

Any thoughts or suggestions based on what I own?

I like the addition of the a-wing. A nice little nuisance that you don't have to worry about 'throwing away' because that's exactly what its for. In fact, if your opponent is shooting at the a-wing, be happy that he's not trying to damage a more valuable part of your squad. And with a defensive token, the a-wing can sometimes be surprisingly hard to kill. Not only that, it will prove its worth once you manage to get a block or two with it (making that tactician b-wing shine)

There is a one major problem with the list though: lone wolf. This list is meant to be flown in some kind of formation with all the ships fairly close together. You can't benefit from lone wolf while doing that. Now, you could keep it for no other reason than it will prove to be valuable once Luke is the last ship standing. However, overall, it would be far more useful to put something like predator on luke so his damage output remains steadily decent all game long. To make it happen, I would suggest dropping Nien Numb, an upgrade that isn't all that important to the success of the list.

Good advice, thanks! I was also thinking that Paul's 2nd ship was a TLT stressor, so maybe:

Luke with R2D2

Warden sq pilot with tactician and TLT

rebel operative with TLT

Prototype with CR

It's probably easier to keep the first list flying together, though. I do like predator over lone wolf.
