Just a quick question, is there a way to win this encounter if all your zombies are dead? I guess you could always throw a couple of conditions, but beyond that?

I don't have the quest guide in front of me, but don't zombies reinforce? The only way to damage the cardinal is with Zombies.

You only do reinforce after the sealed door is opened (at the start of OL turn, dont forget), and then the cardinal is allowed to move. Until then, you can only hit the cardinal with the Master Zombie who starts inside the room with Koth.

If you didnt get any zombie at encounter 1, you'll have a hard time on enc 2, try a grab every turn with the master zombie and do some kind of blockade at the Koth room entrance, but I think it will be tough for the OL to win.

From my point of view, there are no way you can loose this encounter as OL, even without zombies from part 1. See my comment in a previous thread: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/86656-cardinals-plight-how-ol-can-win-this/
