Has anyone else actually played the trooper swarm vs Bantha matchup? I have played 4 games over the past couple nights, and unless I'm missing something, it appears unwinnable for the Imperials. Unless you literally hide your troopers in the deployment zone, they get wrecked by the Bantha at the end of turn 1 and beginning of turn 2. God forbid they drop Survival Instincts on the Bantha turn 2. I've tried spreading them out as much as possible, but there is only so much you can do with that many troopers. If you somehow manage to avoid the Bantha massacre, you are so focused on it, that the rest of their list has its way with objectives and terminals. It is really brutal.

On the flip side, the Bantha vs Wonder Twins is equally as lopsided. The Bantha can't easily kill anything in that list, so the eSabs are free to keep it stunned while Luke and Leia tear it up.

Anyone else have a different experience so far?

I've thought about running the matchup with a proxy but I don't have the Bantha yet :/ hoping to pick one up tomorrow though. If you don't mind me asking what trooper list were you running?

There's your problem - regular Stormtroopers are rubbish.

Switch them out for elite Snowtroopers and an extra officer. The snowy dudes will increase the life expectancy of your troopers, while the officer will help out with mission objectives.

I've played the list that way before and did not like it at all. I admittedly haven't tried it against the Bantha yet, so I will give it a shot. My concern is that it will weaken other matchups by doing this. I'm not even convinced it will help the Bantha matchup for that matter. Have you actually played the matchup yourself?

I thought so, too. Then I got 2 x eStormtroopers / 3 x Stormtroopers / 2 x Officer into my face. It was nuts. 17 figures shooting you, you get no points because the last Trooper always runs away ...

This is my exact Imp Trooper list at the moment - haven't played it yet though. OK rStormtroopers aren't great, but there's a TON of them...
